About the Team

Canva’s Marketing Operations team is leading the development of marketing platform capabilities to reach a growing number of businesses, customers and markets. We are enabling marketing teams to deliver greater impact, output and intelligence in the ways they engage our customers. The team consists of Martech Partnerships, owning the relationships with our key strategic partners, and Ad Operations, driving our advanced global tracking strategy and implementation of scalable processes and protocols.

With a heavy focus on mobile in ‘22, especially within emerging and growth markets, strong foundational capabilities in the tracking and tagging space are essential to long-term success.

What is exciting about this role?

The Mobile AdTech Tracking Specialist will be responsible for the end-to-end development, configuration and deployment of mobile event tracking on Canva site pages and in-app. Focusing on future-fit strategies including server-to-server and first-party data led initiatives, the Mobile ATS will continue to build on Canva’s advanced tracking capabilities as well as be a key collaborator in evaluating the tools that make up Canva’s build-for-purpose MarTech stack.

What you will be responsible for.

  • Supplying the vision for mobile user tracking within Canva’s expanding Marketing & Engagement group, including strategic approach and tooling.
  • Developing streamlined and effective processes for mobile tracking tag development, configuration and deployment as well as govern their application, ensuring AdOps best-practices are standardised and adhered to across marketing teams globally.
  • Identifying opportunities for innovation and automation, overseeing the strategy, evaluation and eventual implementation across the organisation.
  • Being responsible for the migration and integration with partners to shift tracking to server-side, conversion API and SDK-led mobile tracking. 
  • Leading the conversation around emerging technologies in the AdOps and mobile site tracking space, maintaining a competitive advantage in the evolving ecosystem. 
  • Collaborating with your teammates in the built-for-purpose AdOps team to develop innovative solutions for user-level mobile tracking for site, placement and creatives across marketing channels.
  • Contributing to the development of a comprehensive customer experience through journey mapping, proprietary session/user identifiers and the hand-off between Ad Platform and CRM/Life Cycle.
  • You will partner with Growth and Brand Marketing, Data, Engineering and Platform teams to define the mobile site tracking program roadmap and support senior marketing collaborators across Canva.

About you

  • You have demonstrated ability within a marketing operations, front-end or data engineering function at a client, agency or relevant technology organisation, with proven experience leading global mobile site tracking practices. 
  • You have current hands-on experience and advanced capabilities in mobile site tracking technologies such as Google (Tag Manager, Analytics, Firebase), AppsFlyer and Branch as well as knowledge of JavaScript and web technologies (HTML/CSS) and React Native.
  • Well versed in the language of engineering and data analytics, capable of communicating complex concepts across a broad range of subject areas. 
  • Extensive experience managing large-scale mobile site tracking programs, including troubleshooting known and unknown issues in a broad set of channels and markets. 
  • Experience collaborating with enterprise Tech (AWS, Cloudflare), Data (Snowflake, Fivetran), App Stores (Apple, Google) and Media Partners (Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok).
  • Ability to balance desired tracking capabilities with mobile site performance and user consent for an integrated and privacy-first tagging strategy. 
  • You have excellent spoken and written communication skills, allowing you to successfully influence and communicate complex information clearly to your colleagues and through marketing material.
  • An energy giver with a positive outlook and the ability to influence your team leads, peers, and senior leaders across all company functions.
