About the group

Canva’s marketing team has a big mission to build the most loved brand in the world. As part of that mission, the Growth Marketing team is responsible for designing scalable systems and processes that deliver efficient growth and value across any index in pursuit of cultivating engaged, happy and loyal customers. Within this group, you’ll be working with the B2B Growth Marketing team — we’re focused on driving awareness for Canva as an all-in-one workplace design tool, and we’re responsible for the acquisition and adoption of new workplace teams onto Canva’s products.

If you’re looking to practice your craft with a mandate to do proper content strategy – with a lot of independence – this is the role for you.  You’ll get lots of support from the diverse content team across the business. As soon as you arrive, we’ll be saying “Thank goodness you’re here!”

Content Strategy sits alongside Content Design as a small and growing part of our Design specialty. Canva sees content as a crucial part of its ongoing success – and we’re really focused on improving our content experience. We’ve got a lot of content, but we need to do a better job of delivering the right content to the right people at the right time – and fixing silos.

The Content Design specialty collaborates closely with PMs, Designers, Engineers and Design Researchers to identify solutions that prioritize our users’ needs.

Goals you’ll achieve

  • Goal #1 Content experience audit and develop and read-out on B2B/Teams web strategy, vision, and roadmap
  • Goal #2 Global navigation IA overhaul for B2B user experience and conversion flowGoal
  • #3 CMS overhaul and content strategy to improve B2B content publishing process, including creating audit and updating cadence
  • Goal #4 Content strategy to align all B2B educational content across the site and through B2B resource hub
  • Goal #5 Content strategy for SEO landing pages, plus helping with user testing, feedback, iterating on our SEO content to make sure it's really effective, including auditing of CMS module assets and their optimisation for SEO (e.g. image alt text, in-body links)
  • Goal #6 Metadata strategy for ingredients (photos, icons, etc)Goal
  • #7 Explore Canva for Education content strategy needs and incorporate into responsibilities at 20% EDU / 80% B2B if appropriate

What you’ll do

  • Strategy: You’ll be owning the content strategy for our B2B Growth group – and once that’s in a good place, you’ll be looking to take on other aspects of Content Strategy across Canva.
  • Leadership: Working with our content writers, designers, engineers, and SEO team to spearhead new initiatives and workflows that deliver better solutions to our users across Canva’s website. Advocating for Content Strategy across the business. Contributing to a culture of content strategy at Canva.
  • Results: Helping users meet their goals, faster – and, in turn, creating positive results for the business. 
  • Collaboration: You’ll bring SEO, design, PMs, engineers, and content writers together to find the best solutions for our users. You’ll contribute to the Content Strategy subspecialty at Canva, working with other Content Strategists to create a happy, healthy and impactful team.

What we’re looking for

  • You’re a senior Content Strategist who’s got a proven track record of solving complex problems.
  • You have experience working with SEO, CRO, UX designers, and web development across thousands of SEO pages. Even better if this has been translated into languages all around the world.
  • You know best practice SEO at scale, but still retain a love for all things voice and tone.
  • You’re not afraid of complexity – in fact, that’s where you thrive. You like to look deeply at the issues that contribute to content problems, and make strategic solutions, not tactical, piecemeal ones. 
  • You know how to get buy-in from key stakeholders. You’ve got a track record of bringing people through periods of change with compassion and enthusiasm. 
  • You like to move quickly, and aren’t afraid of fast growth and rapid change. Canva is growing faster than you can imagine – which means solutions that worked 6 months ago might break. You’re up for that challenge.
