Canva University supports this by designing learning and development experiences inside and outside of Canva to support the skills everyone needs to work at their best - everything from technical learning, onboarding, leadership, team effectiveness and personal development. Our vision for Canva University is to become the best place to grow by offering the most impactful learning experiences possible.

Our team has a wide range of skills and are all-rounder learning specialists. They’re designers, engineers, teachers, facilitators, psychologists and doers. They craft instructor led and asynchronous learning, and continuously grow their skills and courses along with our product and content library.

We’re looking for an energetic Leadership Development Specialist to join our dynamic team and lead the program design for our Leadership Academy. You will be crafting new and compelling flagship leadership development programs that will sit within the Leadership Academy, and tangibly develop leader’s skills against our skills framework. You will be rallying a cross functional team of learning and people specialists to execute the programs and the Academy vision.

What you'll do

  • Bring a high level of expertise and detail to design and launch leadership development programs for various coaching and leadership needs across Canva.
  • Co-design the Leadership Academy with stakeholders, inclusive of core programs, experiences and content.
  • Drive innovation in the leadership development space, identifying opportunities to advance our leadership practice across our programs and practices.
  • Embed leadership programs into talent programs across Canva, so the leadership experience is connected, accessible and friction-free.
  • Identify and develop initiatives to foster stakeholder and participant engagement, as well as embed a culture of growth and leadership excellence at Canva.
  • Connect leadership initiatives to Our Brand of Leadership and the 12 skills framework.
  • Identify and calibrate leadership pain points, and work cross functionally to resolve these in a timely manner.
  • Track and report on the effectiveness of the leadership programs, iterating and identifying ways to continuously improve.
  • Rally a cross functional team and senior stakeholders to create high quality learning programs aligned to learner and business needs.
  • Track and analyse program performance and impact, and translate these learnings into actions to meet both learning and business goals.
  • Identify  world-leading subject matter experts, content and speakers to help us build the best leadership academy and programs in the world.
  • Manage multiple projects and moving parts with differing deadlines, keeping others on track and informed, and ensuring goals are clear and met on time.
  • Oversee the quality and effectiveness of all courses and curriculum in the human skills remit.

Who you are

  • Prior experience building out company-wide Leadership Academy or leadership development programs with proven results in enhancing leadership effectiveness
  • Substantial experience working with agile methodologies in a leadership development capacity
  • Proven expertise in rallying cross functional teams and senior stakeholders to gain buy in and keep momentum on projects/
  • Delivery of company-wide learning solutions in a business of 5,000+ employees.
  • High level of creative thinking, planning and management of existing and emerging learning environments
  • Proven experience in designing a range of blended and digital learning solutions using the latest leadership thinking and development approaches. To include, micro learning, scenario-based eLearning, simulations, podcasts, video/animation, mobile design, experiential learning, games/gamification. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop program solutions with a commitment to continuous quality improvement and learner centricity
  • Prior experience in inclusive program design - translating solutions across borders, and enhancing the accessibility of programs to a diverse audience.
  • Deep subject matter expertise in leadership development
  • Proven experience in the knowledge and use of the latest learning technologies including how to utilise them in blends/digital solutions
  • Prior experience working in or with tech companies is desirable
