About Canva

At Canva, we create tools that empower the world to design. Our mission is to democratise design and empower creativity for anyone and everyone, on every platform! Inspired by a team of talented thinkers, an amazing culture and remarkable growth trajectory – we’re out to change the world, one design at a time.

Since launch in August 2013 we have grown exponentially, amassing over 30 million active users across 190 different countries who have created more than 2 Billion designs. We are one of the world’s fastest growing technology companies and we have only achieved about 1% of what we are capable of!

Our Design Education Team

At Canva we’re making design simple and accessible to everyone, empowering people all over the world with a design tool – and the design skills – to help them reach their goals.

Canva Design School offers free design courses, featuring some of the world’s leading experts in their respective fields. Our vision for Design School is to become the best place in the world to learn design, and to offer the best online learning experience possible.

Our Design School team has a wide range of all-round skills. They’re designers, teachers, facilitators, creatives and doers. They facilitate in-person and in-product learning and continuously grow their skills and our courses along with our product and content library.

Above all else, Design School aims to make the complex simple, taking big broad topics and making them applicable, engaging and accessible to everyone. Our team has the ability to take a complex thing and communicate it simply with visuals. All the while, making sure our users learn.

About the role

As the Producer on the Design Education team you’ll be producing high-quality informative, and timely creative output (learning content that showcase marketplace media, templates, product rollouts and tutorials) faster and at scale.

You’ll Contribute to the creative direction of learning content types to ensure cohesion across all platforms, and alignment with our global brand

You will Facilitate seamless collaborating across multiple teams in Product, Growth and Creative which includes identifying project scope, clarifying deliverables, anticipating needs, understanding timelines, and managing stakeholders and internal communications.

What you'll do:

  • Work closely with Design Education Leads to bid, award and execute best in class work.
  • Work closely with channel and product marketers to secure alignment and reach content goals.
  • Deliver compelling and inspiring Design School courses and content.
  • Set project schedules, and manage calendars for highly specialised creative workers, including both internal creative teams and/or external partners.
  • Negotiate and manage project statements of work, estimates and related parameters.
  • Manage external vendor relationships (illustrators, photographers, design firms, production companies, etc.)
  • Manage localisation of assets for key markets ensuring every execution feels hyper-local and relevant.

About you:

  • You have 5+ years experience in a production role with an emphasis on the production of learning content, tutorials and videos.
  • You’re comfortable with chaos. You can find solutions even without perfect precedents or direction, and map out a path to clarity and execution. You can work out ways to achieve the impossible and ride through change like a boss.
  • You’re eager to learn and evolve. From creative craft to leadership skills to market trends – you never stop pushing into the next big challenge. You work alongside people who are better than you at some things. To you this isn’t a threat, but an inspiring opportunity to learn and grow.
  • You think and act as we, not me. We’re all in this together. You love nothing more than to collaborate and build trusted relationships with your team, ensuring everyone is empowered to do the best work of their life, and having the best time doing it.
  • Right brain, left brain. Your head is in the clouds while your feet are on the ground. You balance creative and strategic excellence, flipping between big picture thinking and pixel-perfect craft without jeopardizing the quality of either.
  • You’re a fantastic communicator. Your communication skills help you work cross-functionally with other teams. You brainstorm concepts and facilitate workshops. You give and receive constructive feedback and can clearly articulate how creative work can be improved, mentoring others to deliver their best work.
  • You have a bias for action. You’re happy to roll up your sleeves and muck in. No task is too small (or big!) if it helps the team around you to be more effective, and rallies them to achieve their goals faster.
  • You're always striving for your best. You’re a talented creative with amazing production chops, yet you never stop pursuing excellence in yourself and in your work – “Good, better, best. Never let it rest. Until your good is better and your better is best.” A master designer, able to visualise the brand and its products to myriad demographics and personas clearly. Creating a sense of connection in their work between Canva and the audience.
