If you’re looking to practice your craft with a mandate to do proper content strategy – with a lot of independence – this is the role for you. You’ll be the very first Content Strategist at Canva, so there’s huge potential to revolutionize how we do things. You’ll get lots of support from the diverse content team across the business. As soon as you arrive, we’ll be saying “Thank goodness you’re here!”

Content Strategy will sit alongside Content Design as a small and growing part of our Design specialty. Canva sees content as a crucial part of its ongoing success – and we’re really focused on improving our content experience. We’ve got a lot of content, but we need to do a better job of delivering the right content to the right people at the right time – and fixing silos.

The content design specialty collaborates closely with PMs, Designers, Engineers and Design Researchers to identify solutions that prioritize our users’ needs.

What we’re looking for 

  • You’re a senior Content Strategist who’s got a proven track record of solving complex problems.
  • You have experience delivering content strategy solutions
  • You’re not afraid of complex problems – in fact, that’s where you thrive. You like look deeply at the issues that contribute to content problems, and make strategic solutions, not tactical, piecemeal ones. 
  • You know how to get buy-in from key stakeholders, including large and diverse customer support teams. You’ve got a track record of bringing people through periods of change with compassion and enthusiasm. 
  • You like to move quickly, and aren’t afraid of fast growth and rapid change. Canva is growing faster than you can imagine – which means solutions that worked 6 months ago might break. You’re up for that challenge.
