Sportsdigita is a mid-sized company with just under 50 employees based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Its primary offering, Digideck, is a cloud-based sales and marketing software that has been widely adopted in the sports industry and is quickly gaining momentum in the enterprise space.
Sportsdigita’s CEO & Founder Angelina Lawton says the idea of partnering with Canva stemmed from the company’s search for best-in-class technology to help its partners succeed.
Angelina says, “We believe Digideck is the leading sales and marketing software in the marketplace and, likewise, Canva the preference of so many creatives in our industry. Integrating Canva helps to further cement our status as the go-to sales and marketing software for professional sports franchises, college athletics programs and the biggest corporate brands worldwide.”
One common obstacle for Sportsdigita was around customization and design restrictions in Digideck. Sports franchises and enterprise organizations alike wanted the flexibility to design each sales and marketing to the specific needs of their audiences without ever leaving the platform. Enter: Canva.
By integrating with Canva, Digideck’s users can easily access Canva’s extensive library with millions of templates, illustrations, photos, fonts and videos.
Angelina explains, “This integration will further empower Digideck users to implement design elements that were more challenging before. Canva gives us the ability to offer a suite of creative tools to our user base that Digideck can’t on its own.
“As we’re starting to receive questions from customers on the integration and starting to use it internally as well, we see the opportunity for some Digideck-specific template options to choose from as this partnership and integration expands,” she says.
Here’s How They Did It
From an engineering perspective, the integration implementation was straightforward and went smoothly.
Angelina says, “We received the API documentation and had the Canva integration in staging and testing within two weeks (or just one sprint).”
“To be honest, we didn’t need to reach out for support given the ease of the integration and quality of the documentation. All information was provided quickly and allowed us to get started,” she says.
Angelina says, “Many customers have already expressed interest to our Customer Success team in getting up and running with Canva as a result of our communication. On our blog, we did a ‘sneak peek; type of blog post highlighting how easy the integration is to use and the value it can provide to users.”
“We’re anticipating getting many of our current users including some of the biggest brands in sports familiar with Canva, if they aren’t already, and enabling them to fully leverage the creative opportunity Canva offers.
“Additionally, we’d like to use the integration as a value point with prospects as they consider Digideck because of the seamless experience of incorporating dynamic creative elements from Canva into their web-based presentations,” Angelina adds.
