Zoomin, a mid-sized printing business located in Mumbai has rapidly become one of the leading consumer photo product suppliers in India.
The challenge for the Zoomin team has been to figure out how to grow its market share by expanding into the business market without spending a lot of time and money developing new products to trial.
Zoomin marketing manager Siraj Uthanganakath explains, “We knew that Canva already had the range of business products on offer and the designs to go with it.
“Our customers are mostly young – in the age group of 20 – 45 – and are printing products like Photobooks and prints.
“Considering that we already have an in-house printing set up, it made a lot of sense for us to explore the B2B side of business and look at an opportunity to grow even more,” says Siraj.
Say hello to the Canva integration.
Siraj says, “Canva’s ready-to-use suite of business products, plus the huge collection of design templates meant that we did not have to build everything from scratch. Add to this an opportunity to connect with Canva’s existing users within India who are already using the service, we could see that would be an added advantage.”
Here’s How They Did It
Siraj says that while the integration took over a month to implement and send live, the Canva team was very helpful and supportive with the process.
From an engineering perspective, Siraj says, “There was definitely a lot of effort and time required as we had to integrate it to the existing Zoomin user flow and there were quite a few custom requirements that we had which needed to be worked upon.”
Siraj says that the next six months will be critical in judging the success of the partnership because Zoomin, like Canva, has some audacious goals for business growth.
“We are hoping to add another 10 million (INR – Indian Rupees) to our top line,” says Siraj.
