First things first, you'll need to download the Canva app.

And to use the app, you'll need a Canva account.

To sign up or sign in,

enter your email address and password

and jump in.

Once you're all signed in, you'll see the home page.

Across the top are a number of categories

designed to guide you to the right template.

Here, you can start inspired to create anything.

Tap to filter template suggestions.

Then tapping on an option like Instagram post

will take you to a page full of suitable templates.

You can filter further

and see our professionally designed templates

specific to our document formats.

At any time, the home button will bring you back to the home page

no matter where you wander off to.

From the home page, you can also discover

previews of popular templates available.

Swipe left to browse or tap see all.

Know what you're looking for.

Use the search field, type in any kind of document

from a worksheet, template, presentation, or even a sticker.

See that purple button?

That's another way to start a design.

You can also create a custom size here.

Here, you can find all the designs you have created.

Use this to jump back into a design

and pick up where you left off.

Now, let's tap the Menu button here to see some extra features

including our recent designs.

One of Canva's superpowers is the ability

to collaborate and share ideas with others.

Tap the Shared with you button to locate designs

that are waiting for your collaboration.

Brand Kit is available with a Pro account.

Here, you can upload your brand's fonts, color, palettes, and logos.

This makes them easily accessible within the editor.

Content planner is great for managing social media posts.

All your folders will allow you to organize your projects

as you design more and more.

And here's the trash.

Accidentally deleted something? Restore it here

or if you'll never need the document again,

you can permanently delete it here.

From your profile, you can manage your profile photo here

or tap to check account settings, preferences, and login details.

In this section, you can also manage teams.

From the home page, tap the purple button,

choose a document.

This will open our editor with a fresh, blank document.

Start with a template to kick start your creativity.

Browse what's available or search to find what you need.

Tap to select a template and apply it to your page.

Let's explore ways to manage pages.

Add a blank page like this

or duplicate the current page.

Select pages and delete them here.

A great idea when designing is to duplicate the page.

That way, you'll see designs evolve

without losing the original.

Now, let's customize our design.

Tap an element and select a new color.

Drag the handles to resize, rotate it,

or drag to move it like this.

To select multiple elements, tap and hold.

This button will allow you to add more elements to your selection.

Now, you can move scale or rotate them together.

To group these objects together, tap here.

Use the same button to ungroup.

Double tap to edit text like this.

Made a mistake?

Use the undo arrow to track back

or redo a happy accident like this.

At any point, click the page background to deselect everything.

Canva auto saves your work

when you're working online.

Look for this icon to let you know it's saved.

Across the top of the editor are tools

to help manage your workflow.

Here, you'll find options to share or publish your work

or download your design here.

For Pro users, the resize feature is the fastest way

to reformat a design into a different document size.

Discover extra file management options

For easy finding, name your file here.

Page margins help frame designs

and keep elements within a safe area for printing.

whether it's a template, photo, element, or design.

Let's discover how to find exactly what you're looking for.

Search from Canva's homepage.

This field allows you to find templates and designs.

Type your search term here

and explore templates.

You can even find text within your designs.

One way to start a new design

is to search for the type of template you need.

Tap to see the results.

Some will be free.

Others are available to Canva Pro designers

indicated by the small crown symbol.

Tap to select a template and open it up in your editor.

Change your mind?

Tap the purple button in the Templates tab.

Take some time to experiment with the search terms.

A specific search will lead to specific results.

Let's replace an element.

In the Elements tab, you'll find Canva's

extensive library of design ingredients.

Or search for something you need.

Remember, we said Canva was big?

Search results will often include

photos, graphics, videos, and more.

Filtering your search results will also help you

find the perfect element.

Once you've found the element you want, tap and hold.

This brings up some info about the element

and gives you a chance to search for similar elements.

Also, as you use elements in Canva,

notice how Magic Recommendations

adapts and suggests more of the same.

In Canva, there's the ability to search in other tabs

like Uploads, Fonts, Folders, and Apps.

Use search tools to really harness the power and size of Canva.

Ready to design?

Imagine a library of every creative asset you might need.

Welcome to Canva's Elements tab.

From the editor, tap the purple button,

then tap the Elements tab.

Props across the top are useful

for quick access to graphic elements.

And moving down the page, you'll see elements

organized into categories

like lines and shapes, graphics and photos.

Here are Canvas ready-made lines and shapes.

Tap one to get started in the toolbar.

Explore ways to edit the color, weight, style, and end points.

Just like lines, shapes can also be edited.

When it comes to moving or resizing any element,

tap and drag a handle, move the entire element like this.

The nudge tool is useful on a mobile device

to easily move elements a small amount.

In Canva, Graphics are the icons, illustrations, and stickers

that can bring your designs to life.

Use the search tool to quickly find what you need.

Type in a search term and tap to select.

You can change the colors of your graphic

and flip the graphic like this.

Need to visualize some data?

Search for charts in the Elements tab.

Charts are a clear and engaging way to present information.

Select a suitable style.

Adjust the settings here to show your data.

Graphs communicate more complex information.

Enter your data.

Change the type,

and customize the settings like this.

Just like other graphics, you can customize

the colors of your graphs here.

Frames are ready-made shapes to drop photos into.

Select frames from the Elements tab

and click to add a frame to your page.

Then select a photo and drag it onto the frame.

Double tap to adjust the crop position of the photo within the frame.

Grids will organize your page.

Just like with a frame, you can place an image in the grid.

Alternatively, fill a grid with color to create

different visual areas in your design.

Take time to explore the enormous collection of creative assets

and find inspiration in the Elements tab.

A great design needs great type.

With thousands of fonts at your fingertips,

Canva will help you make designs

that speak to your audience.

From the editor, tap the purple button and the Text tab.

Select to place text on your design.

Tap again to highlight and type in your text.

Resize by adjusting the handles like this.

Tap and drag to move the text box.

Designing with type often needs a detailed approach.

At any time, remember you can zoom in and out

by pinching out and in on the screen.

The nudge tool is also handy for moving elements a small amount.

Canva has hundreds of fonts to choose from

and even more for Canva Pro designers.

Find something that complements your design

or search for a specific font here.

Use keywords or refine your search using categories like this.

Tap to select.

Use the toolbar to edit the color of your text in the Format tab.

There are options to apply a style to your font

like bold or italics.

Here, you can also choose the alignment

and format your text as a list.

Get specific about spacing.

From the spacing tab, add or reduce the space

between letters or lines of type.

Text effects are a fun way to make your words pop.

Add an effect and tap to adjust the settings.

Text on a curve is a great way to catch the eye.

Apply and edit the curve like this.

We believe making videos

should be simple for everyone.

Canva lets you edit from your mobile

without switching apps.

From the home page,

tap to create a new video.

A standard format is 16:9

or use a format that works best for a mobile audience.

Tap a blank template to start creating in the editor.

When working with video and audio, we create clips.

Think of these as time-based pages.

Tap the purple button to browse videos.

Search or filter to narrow things down.

The playhead shows us what will be on the screen

at a particular time in the video.

Tap and swipe to move forward or backward in your clip.

Now, let's look at ways to edit your clip.

To trim your clip, drag from the left or right.

Need to split the video?

With the playhead in position, tap Split.

At any time, pinch the screen in or out to zoom.

Use the Add button to insert a second video clip

and add your own video here.

Drag to adjust the volume or tap mute like this.

Ready to take center stage?

Record yourself from within Canva.

Tap select video and shoot.

This is a great way to personalize your videos.

Use Video will insert the clip straight into your project.

Your recording will be saved to your uploads

for use in other projects.

Try a transition between clips.

Tap the Add button and select the type of transition.

Then customize the settings.

Another way to add action to your video

is to animate graphics and text.

With text or an element selected,

tap Animate in the toolbar.

Motion will make elements feel more dynamic.

Animation can also be applied to pages.

Preview the animation and apply it.

What's a video without great sound?

Find a track in Canva's huge library of audio elements.

Search for a keyword or genre.

Have a listen.

And tap to add to your video.

Trim audio the same way as video

and adjust where the audio starts

by tapping holding and dragging the track.

And adjust the volume.

You can upload and add multiple tracks

For example, a voiceover

will give your video a professional finish.

Or, share your creation with the world.

Video content is so engaging

and in Canva, it's easy and fun to create.

share a link with an email address,

or copy a link.

Select whether to provide your team with access to edit

or simply view the design.

You'll notice they appear in the frame like this.

Comments are managed on each page.

Tap the element, then tap on the comment icon.

Type @ to quickly tag a colleague like this and assign a task.

If your collaborator is offline,

they'll receive a notification via email.

Keep track of all comments here.

Brainstorming in Canva is fun and productive.

There are brainstorming templates

for mind maps, planning, and project retrospectives.

Invite your team to collaborate.

Set a timer, and go!

When everyone's done, take some time to consolidate ideas.

Using an icon like a star,

your team can vote on the best ideas.

Celebrating your team?

Decide on a template and upload photos.

Invite everyone to join the fun with stickers and text.

Create something that brings everyone together.

There are lots of options to share and publish your design.

Post it to social media.

Download the design, share or email the link,

or send the design to print.

You can even publish the design as a scrolling website.

In this tab, you'll see what you've created in Canva.

Remember the search tool too.

Find a type of document or even a word within a design.

When you're working online,

Canva saves designs automatically.

You can check this, head to the menu here and tap Save.

And choose where to save your file by tapping Save to a folder.

As you create more designs,

folders are the easiest way to stay organized.

To make a new folder, tap here.

View your existing folders here.

By default, all Canva designs and folders are private.

Ready to share with a team member?

Tap here.

Type in their email address and nominate

whether they can edit comment on or simply view the folder.

Here, you can also rename, move, and delete folders.

There's no limit to the ways you can organize your designs.

You can also organize your designs

straight from the Your Projects tab.

Move files to a folder just like this.

The Team page contains anything

related to your company or brand.

Here, you can see designs and folders

that have been created and share

with members of your team.

Team templates are a Canva Pro feature

allowing you to design quickly and stay on-brand.

The People tab is the place

to invite and remove team members,

and change roles and permissions

of the people in your team.

If your team is large, create smaller groups

for collaboration and specific projects.

Name the group and add members

as administrators or members.

The ability to organize and share your work

is one of Canva's superpowers.
