Canva Named to Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies List
We’re excited to be named on Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies list as #1 in the Design category.
For over a decade, Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies list has been the definitive source recognizing the organizations that are transforming industries and shaping society. Today, we’re excited to share that Canva has earned the #10 spot on the World’s Most Innovative Companies list and #1 in the Design category for 2022.
We’re incredibly proud of this recognition which is testament to the way Canva is empowering more than 75 million people to embrace the visual economy while unlocking creativity and supercharging collaboration at scale.
Over the last year, we’ve seen teams of every size continue to adopt Canva for everything from internal communications to brand management, marketing campaigns, news and journalism, sports fan engagement, sales, and a whole lot more. From Zoom to PayPal, Salesforce, Intel and Warner Music Group, team usage has surged as millions of people embrace the power of visual communication. Whether you’re a small business, a teacher or student, a nonprofit or an individual content creator – visual communication is becoming an increasingly universal need.
As teams, schools and workplaces shifted into remote and online environments, we also launched a range of new features to double down on our goal of building an all-in-one platform to support every visual communication need while enabling collaboration, creativity and productivity at scale from anywhere in the world. As part of these new products, we launched a number of new features for Canva Presentations including magic shortcuts, talking presentations, timers, charts and Canva Live. From pitch decks to internal communications all-hands, school reports, onboarding guides, trivia nights, brainstorms and more - over 500 million presentations have now been created with Canva.
The need for video has become increasingly important to help keep teams connected while working remotely. To support this, we recently launched Canva Video Suite which empowers our community to seamlessly create videos spanning everything from recorded messages to product demos, training sessions, team updates, hype reels, promotional videos, marketing campaigns and a whole lot more. So far, more than 900 million videos have been created with Canva – and we’re just getting started.
Our mission from the very beginning has been to empower the whole world to design. As the world becomes an increasingly digital and visual place, we believe everyone, everywhere, should have access to tools that empower creativity, productivity and collaboration without needing advanced training or extensive budgets.
We love hearing the stories of our community across the globe who are achieving their goals through Canva and visual communication – from Cara Nicoletti who built and runs her business remotely using Canva to Alexis Bowen and Craig Zapataka who started their online travel business (which was acquired by Lonely Planet) using Canva during the pandemic, or UNHCR who use Canva to communicate important messages during times of crisis. These stories are the reason we started Canva and continue to fuel our mission to truly empower the world to design.
Thank you to Fast Company for this recognition and thank you to each and every one of you for being a part of Canva’s journey. We’re still only 1% of the way there!
