While most brands understand the importance of creating compelling content in today’s visual economy(opens in a new tab or window), many are struggling to consistently produce, manage, and scale the volume needed to connect with audiences in a meaningful way.

When I sit with marketing leaders, brand consistency is one of the most common pain points they share with me. The amount of content brands must create today is astronomical, and all too often simple outputs like social media posts, newsletters, infographics, and more are being sent out with outdated fonts, brand colors, and even logos. Lack of visual consistency can damage your brand’s reputation, making it harder to establish the affinity that leads to long-term trust.

As a visual communication platform, these challenges are top of mind for Canva. That’s why we commissioned Forrester Consulting to conduct a Total Economic Impact(opens in a new tab or window)(TEI) study examining the potential return on investment (ROI) businesses may realize by adopting Canva Teams(opens in a new tab or window).

Forrester interviewed seven marketing and creative professionals with experience using Canva Teams to gain an understanding of their pain points prior to adopting our platform, their most common use cases, and how they’ve benefited since. The results were combined to form a single composite organization.

Forrester found that Canva Teams provides benefits totalling USD 1.7M and an ROI of 438% over the course of three years. In other words: every dollar spent on a Canva Teams subscription yields greater cost savings, increases team efficiency in terms of content creation and collaboration, and fuels more efficient hiring practices.

Increased employee efficiency valued at over $815,000

The challenging macroeconomic environment has compressed budgets, with businesses looking for efficiency gains at every turn. With Canva Teams, brand custodians can centralize their brand assets. This includes keeping colors, fonts, icons, imagery, graphics, and guidelines in one accessible place.


This self-serve set-up makes employees more empowered to take on design-focused projects, reducing their dependency on in-house creative teams who can stop dealing with minor design requests and focus on high-impact projects.

Ultimately, Canva Teams is there to democratize design in the modern workplace and does so in a way that creates efficiency and drives growth.

More efficient hiring practices valued at more than $435,000

Marketers and creatives are under tremendous pressure to accomplish more with less, particularly with internal creative resources. The Forrester study found that the often complex, highly siloed content creation required more creative professionals to resolve design bottlenecks due to the high volume of requests. This could be creating multiple versions of a template, resizing images, or making edits to various newsletters, banners, or other visual content.

Since adopting Canva, employees are empowered to design and create their own on brand content. Employees are no longer fully reliant on the creative team and can take care of small edits and minor fixes, which also removes bottlenecks, streamlines workflows, and eliminates slow turnaround times.


Incremental agency cost savings valued at over $410,000

To meet the demands of today’s visual economy, marketers and creatives often turn to third-party agencies to scale their content outputs. Forrester discovered that the use of Canva Teams has increased team productivity and improved the delivery times of projects – reducing the dependency on external agencies. Amid this shift, businesses no longer have to factor in extended agency turnaround times, ranging anywhere from 24 hours to two weeks. Internal teams now have the tools at their fingertips to quickly produce high-quality, targeted, and on brand content.

Forrester found that interviewees continue to express a willingness to use external agencies, but are tapping agency partners for the creation of branded assets, media and advertising, and other complex, high-impact, and strategic initiatives.
