Canva named on the 2024 LinkedIn Top Companies List in Australia

Empowering our team to do the best work of their lives is at the heart of Canva. Following a momentous year of growth, we're incredibly proud to be named number 9 on LinkedIn’s 2024 Top Companies List in Australia.

Empowering our team to do the best work of their lives is at the heart of Canva. Over the past decade, we’ve built a unique culture rooted in our values(opens in a new tab or window) and our mission of ‘empowering the world to design’ that focuses on delivering impact and solving problems for our 175 million users across the globe.

Our value of ‘set crazy big goals and make them happen’ is embedded in our ways of working and creates huge growth and development opportunities for our team.

That’s why we’re thrilled to have been named on LinkedIn’s 2024 Top Companies List in Australia, which recognizes 25 top workplaces for people to grow and thrive in their careers.

Creating a goal-driven culture

Another of our values at Canva is to ‘empower others’. One way we do this is by fostering a goal-driven culture(opens in a new tab or window) where we regularly come together to dream big and set ambitious goals for the future.

We regularly hear from our team about how much they value the opportunity to learn and grow by solving complex challenges(opens in a new tab or window) and empowering millions of people around the world to communicate visually. For one team, that could be partnering with underrepresented artists(opens in a new tab or window) to ensure our product is as inclusive as possible. For another, it could be building our generative AI capabilities(opens in a new tab or window) to unlock new ways of working for organizations across the globe.

Fuelling the growth and development of our team of more than 4,500 Canvanauts is also our deeper mission we call our Two-Step Plan(opens in a new tab or window) – 1) to become one of the most valuable companies in the world, and 2) to do the most good we can. We see both steps fuelling each other. Every time a new team member joins Canva, launches a product, or achieves a goal, their work contributes to both Step One and Step Two.

Growing our people

Building an environment where each and every one of us takes ownership of our growth and development is a key part of our high-performance culture. To support our team in achieving their huge goals, we’ve created a range of onboarding, coaching, and internal pathways programs and initiatives.

For example, our internal learning and development team known as Canva University facilitates a week of virtual and self-paced onboarding sessions for all new starters; our internal coaching team runs regular group and individual sessions on topics such as increasing confidence; and our Pathways team focuses on supporting our team looking for an internal mobility move to a new team or goal across the company.

We create our offerings to be as holistic as possible so our team can choose what's most meaningful and impactful for them as they continue to learn, develop, and grow in their careers.

A defining year of crazy big goals

As we look towards the year ahead, we’re excited to continue growing our team, community, and product as we double down on empowering every part of the workplace to communicate visually.

We’re incredibly proud to have been included in the LinkedIn Top Companies in Australia for 2024, but we wouldn’t be here without our brilliant team of Canvanauts. We believe the more we grow our team, the more we grow together as a company.
