Strategic partnerships supercharge Canva’s global growth in 2020
- Canva expands US partner network to over 40 new collaborations across 18 new countries, fuelling wall-to-wall adoption in organizations of all sizes
- From Samsung, HP, Hubspot and Wattpad, to Fedex Office US, Office Depot US, TradePrint UK, Zoomin India, Staples Canada and Kmart Australia – highly sought-after brands are joining forces with Canva to bring design into the mainstream
Sydney, Australia, 11 December 2020 – Online design powerhouse Canva is one step closer to achieving its mission to empower the world to design as the company supercharges it’s partner network via 42 new partnerships signed throughout 18 countries around the world, further fuelling wall-to-wall adoption in all organizations by facilitating collaboration across teams.
The creative collaboration platform has experienced a period of hypergrowth and is showing no signs of slowing down, with a diverse portfolio of partnerships launched, signed and under integration; with more on their way. This is a huge growth opportunity for the company, as it extends its global footprint from key US integrations (such as with Fedex Office and Office Depot) to landing key partnership deals across the globe, including strategic collaborations with Staples Canada, Kmart Australia, TradePrint UK, Zoomin India, Print Buddy Mexico and many others. Core to this expansion is the move from office products partners to photo products and promotional products partners.
Canva has also installed its first Design Lab at Snap printing services in Australia. Canva’s Design Lab is an award-winning, in-store retail kiosk (Good Design Awards 2020) that empowers consumers to create a design and print the finished creation while in-store. The Kiosks enhance the functionality of the traditional photo kiosk with Canva’s world leading content in a simple to use retail environment, offering access to a library of design templates, images, illustrations, icons and more, so anyone can create a design and have it professionally printed in-store for same day pickup. The Canva Design Lab will be available across the US and Australia first, as part of its worldwide roll-out.
Aaron Day, Canva’s Head of Global Partnerships explains why this strategic approach has been an important engine for the business as the number of people collaborating on Canva designs has doubled since June, as a testament to how the world is embracing design and visual communication as a must-have for knowledge workers.
“In 2020 we’ve seen the world thrown into chaos; businesses shifted to a distributed workforce in a matter of days; students thrust into the unknown of remote learning and individuals across the globe had to change the way they performed everyday tasks.
“This new normal has driven an appetite for collaboration platforms across all disciplines that are more affordable; more accessible and more flexible than ever before. Our partners are looking for a simple solution to help bring design into the mainstream – and this is where Canva comes in.”
“Our strategic approach to partnerships has continued to fuel our desire to support businesses and teams to do their best work – from students through to startups and Fortune 500 companies with remote workers across multiple locations,” Day added.
From a global preinstall agreement with Samsung empowering small business teams to create and collaborate on-the-go, to working with kiakia print in Africatoinnovate the way teams work together in a growing market, the diversity of Canva’s partnership program foundations are built off variety and the guiding principle of empowering the world to design together.
“The accessibility of Canva is driving huge pent-up demand from e-commerce platforms of all sorts, from promotional products to photo products and gifting, the desire to embed Canva is only growing and as visual communications needs keep growing; we’re excited to see what’s next,” Day concluded.
Canva’s product continues to grow in leaps and bounds, and follows the company’s recent launch of a new suite of products aimed at supporting teams, including video editing, a built-in social media content calendar and scheduler, talking presentations and online whiteboards – all powered by real-time collaboration, advanced design and editing tools, as well as smart Canva Button integrations with third-party apps such as Hubspot, Pandadoc, Bukalapak, Helppier, Wattpad and LiveTiles.
From small business owners teaming-up on social media graphics, large Fortune 500 enterprises keeping their assets on-brand across global offices, classrooms and nonprofits sharing their vision through design, and families creating greeting cards for loved ones, designing together is here to stay, and Canva’s host of new collaboration features offer something for everyone — no matter how big or small your team may be.
