Unveiling the Canva Visual Worksuite

Since launching Canva in 2013, we've been working towards the wild dream of building a full suite of visual communication products to empower anyone to design and communicate their ideas. Whether you're a small business owner, a nonprofit, a teacher, an individual content creator, or an enterprise organization, we wanted to ensure that regardless of what you're creating, where you live, or what you're trying to achieve – you have all of the products you need at your fingertips.

Today marks a momentous step forward in this vision and Canva's journey as we reveal the biggest changes to Canva in almost a decade. Announced on stage moments ago at our inaugural Canva Create global event, we're excited to usher in a Visual Worksuite designed for the modern, visual, and ever-evolving world we live in.

These launches elevate Canva from the graphic design tool you know and love into an end-to-end visual communication platform that every person, organization, team, or school can use to unlock their creativity and achieve their goals.

So, without further ado, here are a few exciting products we announced today.

Introducing Canva Docs

Millions of people around the world create documents every day – from proposals to project plans, to-do lists, strategy documents, or even travel itineraries; documents are a timeless way to communicate your ideas.

After many, many years of hard work, and many requests from our community, we're incredibly excited to share a world-first preview of Canva Docs – a new way of creating visually engaging documents that combines everything you know and love about Canva with new features designed to maximize productivity and collaboration.

Canva Docs harnesses the power of both text and visuals, providing the ultimate way to communicate your ideas in an inspiring and engaging way. Not only can you instantly add visuals from our library of more than 100 million videos, GIFs, photos, illustrations, and more – but you can even create and embed new Canva designs, such as whiteboards, banners, or brainstorms from within your Doc. Whether working on a laptop or a mobile, Canva Docs will transform to best suit the screen you're working from.

Built with the modern workplace in mind, Canva Docs is the ultimate space for team collaboration and communication. You'll be able to work together in real time while also leaving comments and actions for your teammates. Plus, you'll be able to control who has permission to view, comment or edit; with Canva Insights, you can even track interactions and edits to your Canva Doc over time.

As a final piece of Canva magic, we've created a new product called 'Docs to Decks' that enables you to write your content in Canva Docs – and with one click, it will be converted into a beautiful presentation.

Introducing Canva Websites

Clunky coding, uneditable web designs, and costly website hosting are now a thing of the past. With the launch of Canva Websites, we're excited to unveil a new way to build beautiful, responsive, and interactive websites for any device.

A Canva Website can be made in minutes, and with our library of hundreds of fully responsive templates, it's easier than ever to create a website for just about anything. Need a marketing landing page, a team resource hub, an event invitation, or a portfolio? We've got you covered.

Gone are the days of scrolling around attempting to resize a website on your phone. Every Canva Website is automatically fully responsive, meaning it'll adjust to look beautiful and professional, no matter what device you're viewing it from. With password protection, you'll be able to control who has access to your website, making it easy to create private spaces for you and your team.

We know the right name is important, so to help truly personalize your website, you can also now instantly publish to the Internet with a free domain, an existing domain, or you can easily purchase a brand new domain name through Canva once you're ready to publish your website for the world to see.

As part of launching Canva Websites, we're also excited to announce the launch of Design Insights across every type of design. It's now quick and easy to see who has viewed or engaged with your website, social media post, presentation, document, or shared design.

Wave goodbye to static, uneditable documents. With Websites, you'll be able to turn documents, presentations, and even PDFs into simple, responsive, and engaging Canva Websites that can be shared with a secure and custom domain.

The website-building experience combines everything you already know and love about Canva, with no coding or prior experience needed. The launch of Canva Websites unlocks a whole new, modern way of sharing information that's more visually appealing, more secure, and adapts to suit every kind of device.

The official launch of Canva Whiteboards

Canva Whiteboards are now available to our whole global community. Our new Whiteboards bring a fresh approach to how teams shape and explore ideas together, combining the ease and simplicity of Canva's editing experience with a new infinite canvas and a range of features designed for brainstorming and team collaboration.

Purpose-built for enabling teamwork and sharing ideas, we've designed Canva Whiteboards for you and your team to quickly and easily jump in and add your thoughts, no matter where you are in the world or what device you're working from, making remote work and asynchronous collaboration more fun and seamless.

Whiteboards let you express your ideas not only through words on sticky notes (hint: press S on your keyboard for a shortcut!) but also with visuals or video from Canva's content library, meaning you can show, not just say, exactly what you need.

As part of launching Canva Whiteboards, we're also introducing new tools to help you make the most out of our infinite canvas. Let your ideas flow effortlessly with new Quick Flow tools for easy diagramming and flowcharting, keep your team on schedule with a synced timer, and quickly find where someone is working on the canvas by clicking their avatar.

Announcing a suite of new Video tools

Since we launched Canva Video, our community has created over 1 billion videos – and now, we're excited to unveil a suite of new features to make the video creation and editing process simpler and more enjoyable than ever. Gone are the days of needing expensive software or advanced training to create professional and engaging videos.

One of our community's favorite features has been the one-click Background Remover. We're incredibly excited to bring that magic to videos. It's been a massive technical feat, so we're thrilled to introduce a one-click Video Background Remover. Forget needing a green screen or advanced software – with the click of a button, you can remove the background from any video, making it easier and more enjoyable to create professional-looking content that stands out from the crowd.

We've also stepped up our animation game with a range of new animation controls that let you create animations unique to you and your design style. These new controls let you adjust the type, speed, style, or direction of any animation, making it easy to add extra personality to your videos.

Introducing cinematic presentations and presenter tools

We've been continuing to reimagine the future of presentations since launching Canva's Presentations suite last year, and today, we're excited to reveal a range of new features to help you create truly captivating presentations that flow seamlessly no matter where or how you're presenting.

To bring professional-level motion to your presentations, we've introduced dazzling new transitions including Match and Move, which recognizes images or text across two different slides no matter the size, location, or color. In the click of a button, these elements smoothly transition to give an animated look and feel, and make slides even more cinematic.

Following the launch of Canva's new Video Suite, you'll soon be able to choose to edit your presentation as a video! Switch from the traditional thumbnail editing view to our new timeline, which reveals an intuitive slider to help you get a sense of timing, or to add and perfectly sync multiple audio tracks in seconds.

We've also been reimagining different ways to present numbers and data in new, engaging, and more digestible formats. With the launch of Data Visualizations 2.0, you can now simply transform your data (including spreadsheets) into animated and interactive data visualizations fit for any Canva design. Whether you're looking to create an animated bar race, a drill-down sunburst, or an interactive pie chart – it's now easier than ever to make complex data more engaging and understandable for any kind of audience.

Finally, for anyone who's sick of hearing the phrase 'next slide, please,' we've got a solution for that too. With the launch of Canva's new Remote Control, multiple presenters can now connect to a virtual clicker from any device to navigate and manage slides, remotely or in person. Whether standing on stage using your phone or presenting in a meeting from your laptop, you're in control of your slides.

Announcing the new Canva Print catalog

Whether it's the digital or physical world, Canva has you covered. You can now design and create more than 35 different print products – simply create your design, and with the click of a button, we'll deliver it straight to your doorstep. It doesn't end with posters or flyers – you can now print everything from gifts to marketing materials, cards, invites, and more in just minutes. Canva now offers free in-store pickup at local FedEx Office stores for U.S.-based users, and Staples stores in both the U.S. and Canada, with more collection partners to be announced in the future.

Committed to ensuring a sustainable future, we'll also plant a tree for every print order placed with us. So far, we've planted 2.4 million trees and are committed to planting 5 million by the end of 2022.

Design better together with Canva for Teams

We know great things happen when we work, play, collaborate, and create together – from the classroom to the boardroom. We're excited to reveal a range of new features to empower every kind of team and organization to unlock their creativity and achieve their goals.

Whether you're a team of 2 or 22,000, our new Canva for Teams product has been built to grow with you. With Canva for Teams, we're introducing new features to help every kind of team collaborate to build and scale their brands, engage audiences, and stand out with compelling content – all while having fun.

Set your team up for success with our new team management features which allow you to set permission levels for team members based on whether they should be making templates for everyone to use, or making the most of consistent team templates that have already been designed using your company's Brand Kit.

Track how your team is using Canva with our advanced team reporting features, and measure the effectiveness of the work produced in Canva for customers or clients with Design Insights that show you the number of views, and who's engaging with your content.

Being a Force for Good is an incredibly important part of our mission at Canva, so we're thrilled to announce that all of these new features, and the whole of the Canva for Teams platform, will also be available for free for eligible nonprofits, for up to 50 team seats.

Building for the future with our new Education offer

We believe education is a fundamental human right for everyone. In an increasingly visual world, it's more important than ever for every student across the globe to learn how to communicate visually. Over 25 million teachers, students and educators are now using Canva to harness visual learning. That's why, from today, we're expanding our Canva for Education offering beyond teachers and classrooms by making our platform available for entire K-12 school districts worldwide, with no hidden costs.

Our new school teams collaboration functionality makes it easy for any student, teacher or school to create and run their lesson plans, assignments, and classroom workshops through Canva.

Announcing the Canva Creators Program

Our community has always been an incredibly important part of Canva's growth and success, so today, we're excited to reveal a brand new marketplace fuelled by our community. With over 1.5 million templates and 22 million graphics/images, the Canva Creators program is already giving rise to some of the most incredible photographers, illustrators, and template designers using Canva, with all their diverse designs available through our content library.

It's a thriving community of graphic designers, artists, illustrators, and educators who are able to flex their creativity, earn an income and achieve their goals. Announcing the Developer Marketplace

We've been quietly partnering with some of the world's best developers, freelance and integration partners to help build the future of Canva. Today, we're thrilled to announce our new App Marketplace, powered by the new Canva API. Our App Marketplace will make Canva the world’s most pluggable platform and allow any developer anywhere to build directly into Canva.

For the first time, we have opened up our design engine to developers all over the world, giving them unprecedented flexibility to create apps and integrations' in Canva. Some of our most recent apps and integrations include Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Photos, Google Drive, Dropbox and Bynder – and this is just the start.

As more and more developers build innovative apps in Canva, you'll be able to complete entire workflows within Canva. Adding new elements to your designs will be richer and more functional – for example, our QR Code app lets you instantly add a QR code to any design, no coding required.
