10 Highlights from Canva Create 2024: Redesigned for Work

Our third Canva Create was held in person in Los Angeles for the first time, where we lifted the lid on a whole new Canva, focused on redesigning work. Here are the top highlights.

2024 has been a game-changing year for Canva. With more than 185 million people now using our platform each month, we’re incredibly proud to empower hundreds of global teams(opens in a new tab or window) and enterprises(opens in a new tab or window) with our growing suite of visual communication products. We’re also thrilled to be helping shape the future of education(opens in a new tab or window) alongside more than 70 million students and teachers(opens in a new tab or window) around the world.

This week marked our biggest moment to date: the return of Canva Create(opens in a new tab or window). Live for the very first time from the YouTube Theatre in Los Angeles, we were joined in person by more than 3,500 members of our incredible community, and more than 2.5 million people online, as we came together to explore the future of visual communication in the workplace.

From new product features built for organizations, to an entirely new editor experience, a custom solution for global enterprises, and enhancements to a suite of incredible AI tools, we unveiled a whole new Canva experience. Let’s dive into some of the top moments.

To reimagine Canva for work, we’ve updated the Canva experience as a whole. Rolling out gradually to our entire community from now through August, we unveiled a new homepage and editing experience designed to streamline your workflow, organize your designs, and empower your team to do your best work together.

8. We announced we’re co-funding a solar energy project

Part of our commitment to Step Two(opens in a new tab or window) of our Two-Step Plan includes contributing to a more sustainable world, so we’re thrilled to have announced we’re teaming up with our largest Canva Print(opens in a new tab or window) suppliers, including RPI Print(opens in a new tab or window),Taylor(opens in a new tab or window),Blooming Color(opens in a new tab or window),Brook & Whittle(opens in a new tab or window), and Digital on Demand(opens in a new tab or window), to co-fund a Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA) in partnership with Watershed. Together, we’ll be building a network of community solar energy projects in Illinois to reduce our Canva Print(opens in a new tab or window) scope 3 emissions across our supply chain, and provide community access to clean power at the same time.

Tackling Scope 3 emissions is very complex, so we’re working directly with our supply chain partners to have the greatest impact. We’re excited to reduce our Print electricity-related emissions as part of our wider journey towards Net Zero emissions – and we can’t wait to tackle this in unison with Watershed and our partners. 9. World-class guest speakers took to the Canva stage

Inviting our global community to attend Canva Create in person for the first time meant we wanted it to host an event with something for everyone – this included the opportunity to hear from like-minded innovators.

Three guest speakers at Canva Create 2024: Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, Mindy Kaling, Emmy-nominated writer, actor and producer, and Adam Grant, Organizational psychologist, best-selling author and podcast host.

We were thrilled to share the stage with some world-class guest speakers, including:

10. Leading brands shared their Canva stories

We were also delighted to be joined by top companies and their leaders who shared their Canva journey and the future path. We loved hearing about how they use Canva at work, so we were thrilled to have innovative start-up leaders and business decision-makers from creative agencies or leading brands such as Fast Company and Workday host sessions and share their stories.

Some of the most popular sessions included insights on harnessing AI’s evolving role in the workplace, secrets to creating winning ad creative, and best practices for visual storytelling.
