Import Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop files
Skip recreating your Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop designs on Canva. You can now simply import them for editing.
This is currently only available on canva.com via your desktop browser.
This is an early version (beta release) of our Illustrator-to-design and Photoshop-to-design conversion feature. We’ll be improving it over time, depending on how you use it and on your feedback.

What to expect
- PSD file and .ai file types are supported.
- You can import .ai files of up to 100MB and PSD files of up to 300MB.
- You can import Illustrator designs with up to 300 artboards as a single design. If your design has more artboards, it'll be split up to 10 designs, or 3000 pages. There's no limit for Photoshop designs.
- You can import up to 100 fonts
- Images for Illustrator and Photoshop are limited to 1200 images per page.
- Designs with layers, gradients, and masks are supported, but some elements might be rasterised.
- You can only import Illustrator designs saved as “PDF compatible format” files.
- If your Illustrator or Photoshop design has a scan of documents or designs, we can only process it as a flat or merged image. Its text or design elements can’t be broken up for editing.
Why does the imported text or font look different?
We’ll try to identify and match the text font during the conversion process. But there are a lot of fonts available, so it’s not always possible to find an exact match.
Why can’t I edit the colours of an image in the imported design?
Making colours editable depends on the original image type used to create the Illustrator or Photoshop design. There’s more chance of success if the original is a vector image. If it’s a raster image, Canva can’t break it down in a way that enables editing.
