Setting up your team's brand voice
Create a well-defined brand voice for your team. You can either set up or apply brand voice guidelines from the homepage or the editor based on your team role.
To help your team create content that consistently speaks its brand voice, use Magic Write.
Brand voice is only available to Canva Pro, Canva Teams, Canva Education, and Canva for Nonprofits. For teams, only owners, administrators, and brand designers can add and edit brand voice guidelines. Organization brand designers can also add and edit brand voice for any team's Brand Kit across the organization.
Add brand voice to your Brand Kit
Team administrators or brand designers can craft the team's brand voice from the homepage. For admins, make sure to allow permissions and set the Magic features in your team’s Settings, so your team members can access Magic Write in the editor.
- If you add a brand voice, the brand voice guidelines still apply when using the Magic Write shortcut (/).
- You can save your brand voice guidelines in these supported languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, French, Thai, Italian, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, Turkish, German, Vietnamese, Chinese, Polish, Dutch, Korean, Czech, Romanian, Malay, and Tagalog.
Add brand voice to your Brand Kit
- From the homepage side panel, go to Brand.
- Select the Brand Kits.
- For multiple Brand Kits, find and select the Brand Kit you'd like to edit.
- Under Brand voice, select Add your brand voice.
- Describe your brand’s unique personality and how you communicate with your audience. Be as descriptive as you can. Note: There’s a 500-character limit on the guidelines.
- Select Save. If the Magic Write output isn’t on-brand as expected, you can edit your set guidelines.
Use brand voice
After setting up the brand voice and team permissions to use Magic Write, team members can easily create content aligned with the team’s brand voice in the editor.
- On the editor, select Brand.
- Scroll down to Brand voice.
- Select Generate in this brand voice.
- Type in what you’d like Magic Write to create for you in the Magic Write dialog box. For example, “Write an exciting copy for a banner.”
- Select Generate. From here, you’ll see content generated that’s aligned with your brand voice.
Using the Magic Write floating toolbar
You can also access your brand voice via the Magic Write floating toolbar.
- When you select a text on your design, you’ll see the Magic Write floating toolbar. Click or tap Magic Write.
- Select Apply brand voice.
