Starting or joining Canva Live sessions

Interact with your audience while presenting your design using Canva Live.

1. Open your Canva presentation.
2. Above the editor, click
   Present. If you don’t see it, click on
   Share first to look for it.
3. Select Present full screen or Presenter view from the dropdown.
4. Click Present.
5. If you chose Present full screen, click the
   Canva Live icon at the bottom of the presentation view. If you chose Presenter view, click
   Canva Live from the Presenter window.
6. Click Start new session. This will generate a unique 8-character alphanumeric code.
7. Ask your audience to visit canva.live (live.canva.cn for China users), and to enter your unique 8-character alphanumeric code or scan the QR Code to join the session.

Once you’ve started a Canva Live session, you can access moderator controls by clicking the

Click the dropdown menu on the Live Q&A panel to sort comments by Newest, Oldest, and Top voted.

Exiting the presentation view doesn’t end the live session. This is useful when you need to show the audience something on a different browser tab or application. Simply click on Present again to return to your Canva Live session.

To end a live session, click End in presentation mode.

On Presenter view, the audience chat/questions will only show on the Presenter window, making them visible only to the presenter.

Anyone with the presenter’s code or who has scanned the Canva Live QR code can join their Canva Live session.

1. Visit canva.live (live.canva.cn if you’re participating from China) on your web browser.
2. Enter the presenter’s 8-character alphanumeric code to join the session. You can also scan the QR Code on the Canva Live invitation banner using your device.
3. Display or hide the banner from the audience while the session is active by using the Hide/Show toggle in the Canva Live controls.
4. Use the chat to send a comment or a question to the presenter.
5. Delete your messages by clicking on
   (Delete) next to them.
6. Upvote comments or questions other participants have asked by clicking the thumbs-up icon next to it.

7. Leave a session by clicking on
   (More) and on Leave session.
