Share your Canva design and collaborate with anyone

Canva lets you collaborate with anyone right away. You can share a link that lets anyone edit your design, no sign-in required. Here's how.

Give anyone edit access to your design

To share a design, make sure you are the design owner or have edit access to it.

  1. Open the design you want to share.
  2. In the editor, select
    Share.
  3. Your design is set to
Only you can access by default. Select
Anyone with the link from the dropdown.
  4. Select the permission you want to give: Can edit, Can comment, or Can view. You can change the permissions any time after this.
  5. Select Copy link.

Note: Guests will need to log into Canva to comment, but they don’t need to be members of your team.

Invite a user to your team when sharing

You can invite other people to your team when sharing a design. Here’s how.

  1. Open the design you want to share.
  2. Select
    Share in the editor.
  3. Under People with access, enter the email address with whom you want to share your design.
  4. Check the option to invite this user to your team.

Note: If you’re on Canva Pro, you can’t invite people to your team when sharing. To create or expand a team, upgrade to Canva Business. You can still collaborate with people who aren’t on your plan or don’t use Canva.

How to know if a guest joins your design

When people open your design and they’re not logged in to Canva, their picture will be an animal illustration, rather than their initials or photo.

You can change or remove the design link permission if you don’t want a guest to edit your design.

Learn what guests can and can’t do

What they can do

  • View, present, and play a design.
  • Make edits to the design. They can access the side panel, add, edit, or delete design and text elements, and add, edit, or delete pages.
  • Copy the design link. They can share the design link you sent, but they won’t be able to change the edit permissions or access other share options.
  • See comments from users.
  • See live updates by other users.

What they can’t do

  • Upload content or files to the design. They can’t drag and drop files or access the Upload tab.
  • Add, edit, or resolve a comment. They need to sign up or log in to Canva to do this.
  • Share the design. Except for sharing the design link you sent them, they can’t access any other share options, like inviting people via email.
  • Change design link permissions.
  • Make a copy of the design.
  • Print the design.
  • Publish or download the design.
