Save download settings for your designs

You can save your preferred download format and options so they automatically apply to new designs of the same type on your current device.

Selecting Save download settings updates the default download settings for that design type on your device. These settings are stored locally and do not sync across devices.

When you select Save download settings, Canva saves:

• Your selected file type (for example, PNG or PDF)
• Supported download options for that file type

These saved settings apply to new designs of the same type on the same device.

Canva does not save the following settings:

• Page selections after you close the design
• Download settings across different devices
• Download settings across different design types

If you can’t see Save download settings, you might be on an unsupported design. Save download settings is not supported on multi-design files.

If your design has more than one format in a single file, such as a sheet, presentation and Canva Doc, Save download settings will not appear. There is no single default setting that applies to all pages.

If you only want to change download options for a single file, you do not need to select Save download settings.

Canva saves your page selection only while the design is open. If you close or refresh it, it resets to all pages.

Your download settings may reset if:

• You switch devices or browsers.
• You clear your browsing history and cookies.
• You stay signed out for a long time and your Canva session expires.

Save your download settings if you regularly download the same design type using the same file format and options.

For example, if you always download presentations as PNG files with specific options selected, saving your settings prevents you from resetting them each time.
