Team discovery and settings
Allow other people from your organisation using Canva to discover and join your team. You can change this setting at any time.
Who can use this feature?
Canva Teams, Canva Business, Canva Enterprise, and Canva for Nonprofits team owners and admins.
This is not available for educational institution domains. Learn how to invite people to your class.
The Canva Teams plan is no longer available for new sign-ups and upgrades. The information on this page applies only to people already on a Canva Teams plan. Learn more about the latest changes to Canva Teams.
Managing your team discovery settings
- From the homepage, select your account profile, then select Settings.
- Select Controls.
- In the Team access section, select the (drop-down) next to ‘Who can join this team?’
- Choose one of the following options:
- Only invited people can join. Your team is private. Only invited people can join.
- Anyone with an [@domain] email can request to join. This is the default setting for teams. Anyone from your domain can discover your team, but they’ll need approval to join. Team admins can review these requests.
- Anyone with an [@domain] email can join. Joining your team won’t require approval.
How are teams billed for added team members?
For Canva Teams and Canva Business, you will be billed for each team member that joins your team. Charges for new team members will be included in your next bill.
For Canva Enterprise, you are billed for the first number of licences that you purchase. Any team members added beyond your contracted seat count will be captured in the next billing cycle.
Can’t find the discovery settings
If you have several teams, make sure you’re in the right one to access discovery settings:
- From the homepage, select your account profile.
- In the Teams section, hover over your current team to open the Switch teams menu.
- Check whether your team has a check icon next to its name.
- If it doesn't, select your team name. The page reloads automatically.
