Use uploaded fonts
Your uploaded fonts can be used the same way as fonts from the Canva library.
- Select a text box.
- Select the Font on the toolbar.
- Your uploaded fonts will appear under your Uploaded fonts. You may need to scroll down to see it.
To set it as a heading, subheading, or body text box under Brand Kit, see Setting up and using brand fonts.
Grouped fonts
For fonts with multiple weights, you’ll see them grouped. Select the arrow next to it for the list.
If the fonts aren't grouped correctly when uploaded, there may be a problem with the metadata in the font file. Delete the fonts from the Brand Kit and update the metadata with the correct family name before re-uploading.
Can’t find the uploaded fonts
Can’t find the fonts you uploaded? It may be on a different Brand Kit. To switch Brand Kits, go to current Brand Kit’s name, and select the Brand Kit you’d like to use.
Use bold and italics on uploaded fonts
Ensure you upload both the regular file and the bold or italics file if you want to use bold or italics fonts. For each font family, you can add up to 18 styles.
- The "B" and "I" buttons will be greyed out if you've only uploaded the regular version, not the bold or italic version.
- If you have fonts uploaded before July 2023, you'll need to re-upload them with the additional styles to ensure they're automatically grouped.
- When designs with older font versions are uploaded, they must be updated with the newer versions.
- "Condensed" style fonts will always be uploaded separately.
- Canva doesn't support variable fonts.
Delete uploaded fonts
- From the homepage side panel, go to Brand.
- If you have multiple Brand Kits, select one to customize from the dropdown.
- Go to Fonts and find the font you’d like to delete. If you’re unable to find it under Fonts, select Manage uploaded fonts.
- Click the icon to delete the font. A prompt will appear to confirm the deletion.
