Leave a team
Leaving a team will remove your access to all designs, folders, and brand templates made in that team.
Once you leave, you’ll lose access to your team’s content, and your team members may also lose access to designs you’ve shared with them.
Make sure everyone copies the designs they want to keep. Learn how to copy designs to a personal account or copy designs to your school or district account.
Before you leave
- Make sure your team admin has set "Who can leave a team?" to Everyone.
- Team owners need to choose a new owner before leaving the team. Learn more about changing your team owner.
- Your team must not use SSO, SCIM, or SAML, or a Canva District plan.
Leave a team
- On the homepage, select your profile icon.
- Select Settings.
- Under People management, select Team profile.
- Select Leave team. This action can't be undone, so review the pop-up carefully before confirming.
- To confirm, select Leave team. You will no longer be part of the team.
You’ll return to the homepage and see a notification confirming that you’ve left the team.

I can't find the leave team option
What can cause this
The Leave team option may not appear for a few reasons:
- Your team’s leave permission is restricted
- You're the team owner
- You're on a Canva District team
- Your Enterprise team uses single sign-on (SSO), System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM), or Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML)
What to do
- Ask your team admin to set "Who can leave this team" to Everyone.
- Change the owner first. Once someone else owns the team, the leave team option will appear. Learn more about changing your team owner.
- Contact your organisation or district admin for help leaving the team.
Content can’t be transferred after you leave
What can cause this
Admins can only transfer content from members who are removed from a team. If you leave the team yourself, your content can’t be transferred afterwards.
