If your application is rejected
If your application isn't approved, you'll get an email explaining the outcome. Common reasons include:
- Missing or unclear documentation. Reapply with a document type accepted for your organisation and country — check the eligibility guidelines for what's accepted.
- Organisation type doesn't match the category selected. Reapply under the correct category (for example, Registered Not-for-profit, Social Impact Organisation, or Public Health Organisation) using an email that matches your organisation's domain where possible.
- We couldn't confirm your affiliation with the organisation. This can happen if your organisation hasn't responded to our verification check yet, or if the affiliation proof provided wasn't sufficient. Reapply with a signed letter of affiliation, volunteer ID, or another document showing your name, role, and organisation.
- The organisation's mission or activity doesn't meet programme requirements. Programmes like Canva for Not-for-profits are intended for registered not-for-profits, charities, and qualifying social-impact or public-health organisations. Some organisation types — such as sports clubs, professional associations, or businesses — aren't eligible.
You're welcome to reapply with corrected information at any time — there's no penalty for resubmitting. If you believe your organisation qualifies and your application was rejected in error, contact us with your application details and we’ll take another look.
If your team continues using Canva while your application is being reviewed, you can keep using Canva Free at no cost.
I can’t proceed with the application
If you encountered a “Your organisation is already using Canva” error, it means that your organisation already has an account in Canva. Reach out to your organisation administrator to grant you access to the account.
Applying for Canva Education
Teachers and staff at eligible K-12 institutions can apply for Canva Education in a similar way, with its own eligibility guidelines and verification steps. If your Canva Education application is rejected, the same principles apply: check the rejection reason in your email, correct your documentation, and reapply — there's no limit on genuine corrected resubmissions.
