Connect your Meta account to Canva
Link your Meta account to access Canva Grow's Learn feature. You can also publish ads to your Facebook and Instagram business pages.
Before getting started:
- You need Admin access in Meta Business Manager for the ad accounts you plan to sync.
- Pop-ups must be allowed in your browser.
- Meta controls the authentication window. The screens may vary slightly.
Link your Meta Ads account
To use the Learn feature, you need to link a Meta account first. Once this is done, you can also publish ads directly to your Facebook and Instagram business accounts from the editor.
From the homepage
- Select Grow on the side navigation.
- Select Connect to Meta. A pop-up window will appear and prompt you to connect your Facebook or Instagram account.
From the editor
- Select Share.
- Select Meta Ads. If you don’t see it as one of the first few options, click See all and then search for Meta Ads.
- Select Connect to Meta. A pop-up window will appear and prompt you to connect your Facebook or Instagram account.
Complete the Meta authentication
- When the login window opens, login to your Facebook account.
- Select Continue. You’ll be prompted to select which Facebook pages, businesses, and Instagram accounts you’ll allow Canva to access.
- Select Continue. Grant access to the pages and businesses you want to connect to Canva.
- Select Continue. Review the access request.
- Select Save to proceed.
- Select Got it. The data from your Meta account will then be synced to Learn.
You’ll see the following banner: Syncing your ad data. This may take a few minutes. The syncing time is dependent on Meta.
After authentication, you’ll return to Canva and see Ad account connected. From here, you can select one or more ad accounts from the list, then select Connect.
Permissions you do not grant during the authentication process will limit the data that appears in Learn within Canva.
After linking an account, you can store and edit your business and product information anytime from Ad Knowledge.
Now that you’ve connected your Meta account to Canva, you’ll be able to Learn and publish your ads directly to your business accounts.
Troubleshoot your ad account connection
If you’re encountering issues connecting your Meta account to Canva, try the following troubleshooting steps.
Unable to sync data
- Select Try again.
- If it persists, select Learn. Then select Ad Account Settings.
- Go to Manage connections. Then select Reconnect.
Unable to find the ad account
- In the Meta authentication window, select Edit setting. Make sure you grant access to the correct Business, Pages, and Instagram accounts.
- Confirm that you’re an Admin on the ad account in Meta Business Manager.
- Remove and re-add the Canva integration from Business Integrations if permissions were too restrictive, then reconnect in Learn.
I synced the wrong account
- Go to Learn and select Ad Account Settings.
- Select Disconnect.
- Select Connect Ad Account again and select the correct ones.
Data is incomplete or outdated
- Click Sync in the header to refresh.
- Check that the goal metric choice matches your objective.
- Verify that campaigns are attributed to the connected assets in Meta.
Here are some pro-tips when connecting your account:
- Connect multiple ad accounts if you manage several brands (you can switch or filter in Learn).
- Selecting “all current and future” assets in the Meta dialogs reduces missed data later.
