Connect data source apps to Canva to autofill your designs

Connect your data source to Canva to instantly fill the data on your design.

If you’d like to connect data from Salesforce, here’s how to set up the Canva for Salesforce app on the Salesforce platform.

This feature is available to Canva Enterprise admin, developers, and brand designers only.

Step 1: Connecting Canva to your custom app

Before fetching your data from your preferred data source app, make sure to connect it to Canva first.

Learn more about this on the Canva Connect API documentation.

  1. Select a template or design you want to use for bulk creation.
  2. From the editor side panel, select
    Apps.
  3. Under More from Canva, select
    Data autofill.
  4. Select
    Custom.
  5. Once you’ve connected your data source to Canva, click Continue.

Step 2: Adding data fields

Select elements on your design to add them as data fields. You can use any of these three types of elements as data fields in your design:

  • Text elements, which can be filled with text content.
  • Non-text elements such as graphics, frames, shapes, and grids.
  • Charts, which can be filled with detailed information from reports for easy visualisation of data.

You must be a Team brand designer or admin to add data fields and publish a brand template.

  1. Select the element/s on your design that you want to map.
  2. On the floating toolbar that appears, select
    Data field.
  3. Enter the data field name that matches your data.
  4. Click Add to proceed.
  5. Repeat the same steps on all of your data fields.
  6. Once done, click Continue.
  7. On the next panel, click Publish as Brand Template.
  8. Select your preferred publish option, then click Publish and close.
