Upload takes too long or doesn’t finish
When your uploads take too long or just don't finish, here are some things to check to try to fix it.
Your file type and size
Your files won’t upload if they’re not supported — like PSDs or TIFFs — or if they’re too big. Make sure that they meet our upload requirements, and try again.

Your account storage
Try to delete old uploads because your storage might be full.
Free Canva accounts can upload up to 5GB of media, while Canva Education and Canva for Nonprofits accounts can store up to 100GB. Canva Pro and Canva Teams accounts have 1TB of storage.
Even if you still have storage available, keep in mind that individual file upload limits still apply. Make sure your files meet the size and format requirements for successful uploads.
Directly uploading to a folder
You can only directly upload JPG, PNG, SVG, and GIF files to a folder. Canva Free folders can contain up to 200 items. Canva Pro, Canva Teams, Canva Education, and Canva for Nonprofits folders can hold up to 1000 items. Try to use the Upload tab from inside the editor instead.
Canva status
Site maintenance can affect uploads. Visit our status page for updates, and try to upload again when it shows All Systems Operational.
File names and extensions
Make sure their file names end in formats that Canva understands: .JPG, .PNG, or .SVG. Remove special characters from the file names as well before trying to upload again.
File corruption
Try to open the file using a different programme. If it doesn’t open or if you can’t preview it, it means it’s corrupted and Canva can’t read it. Try to get a new copy of the file, and use that one to upload to Canva.
Your web browser
Make sure to update your web browser. You can also try to use a different browser to upload the images. Canva works best on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
We also recommend clearing your browser history or cache as they can cause trouble after they’ve accumulated.
Your internet connection
Uploading images to Canva needs a stable internet connection. If available, try to connect to a faster or more stable network before trying to upload your files. If you don't have a second network, try to reset your connection before uploading again.
