Analyze trends over time with line charts

Show trends over time or across an ordered sequence using line charts. If you want to compare multiple categories on the same timeline, a multi-line chart is a great choice.

How Line charts work

Line charts connect data points to show how values change over time.

  • Upward lines indicate an increasing trend
  • Downward lines show a decrease
  • Peaks and dips highlight highs and lows in the data
  • Multiple lines let you compare different groups side by side (e.g., sales in different regions)

Add line charts

This is the first step in adding line charts. Afterwards, you can add chart data manually or import it from an external source.

  1. Create or open an existing design.
  2. From the editor side panel, select
Charts. If it's not there, select the
    Apps tab first, then Charts.
  3. Under Line charts, select Multi-line chart or Line chart.

Set up chart data

Data Requirements:

  • Category column(s) (e.g. Product, Region, Time periods).
