Pin designs, templates, subfolders, and more to a folder

In Canva, you can highlight important content in a folder, so it’s easy for you and your team to find. Here’s how to pin designs, templates, subfolders, videos, and images to the top of a folder.

To pin or unpin, you need to be the folder owner or have edit and share access. If you only have a view or edit access to a folder, you can still view pinned content.

Pin items or subfolders to a folder

You can pin up to 12 items in a folder.

  1. From the
    Home screen, go to
    Projects.
  2. Select the Folders tab, then go to the folder you need to pin to.
  3. Hover your mouse pointer over the folder item you need to pin.
  4. Select
    more, then
    Pin to folder.
  5. You can find the pinned item in the “Pinned” section at the top of the folder.

Unpin items or subfolders in a folder

  1. From the
    Home screen, go to
    Projects.
  2. Select the Folders tab.
  3. In the “Pinned” section, find the item you need to unpin. Or go to the item directly outside the Pinned section.
  4. Hover your mouse pointer over the folder item.
  5. Select
    more, then
    Unpin from folder.

What happens if I (or another user) move pinned content to another folder?

This unpins the pinned content from the folder. Follow the steps above if you need to pin it again to its new folder.

What happens if I (or another user) move a folder with pinned content?

This won’t affect the pinned content. Unless you unpin, move, remove, or delete the pinned items themselves, they will stay pinned to the folder.
