How yearly installment plans work (Brazil)

This article is for Canva users in Brazil who pay for a yearly plan in 12X monthly installments using a local credit card.

How the yearly plan (12x monthly installments) works

When you choose a yearly plan with installments:

  • Your bank pays Canva the full yearly fee upfront.
  • Your credit card limit is reserved for the full amount.
  • Your bank splits this into 12 monthly payments, which you repay directly to them.
  • You don’t pay Canva directly. The installments are between you and your bank.

If your statement shows the full yearly charge, this reflects your bank reserving the credit limit. You’ll still see monthly installment charges appear separately. If you don’t see the first installment charge within three days, contact Canva support to confirm you’re enrolled.

How to choose the yearly plan (12x monthly installments)

  1. Click the Upgrade button from the homepage or by clicking any of the Canva Pro features.
  2. Select the Annual plan (x12 installments).
  3. Enter Card details and click Get Canva Pro or Get Canva Business.

To qualify for this option, you must:

  • Subscribe to the yearly Canva Pro or Canva Business plan via desktop (not available through the mobile app, Apple App Store, or Google Play Store).
  • Use a local Brazilian credit card that supports online installment payments.
  • Be a resident of Brazil.
  • Pay with a card denominated in BRL (Brazilian Real).
  • Have enough credit available to cover the full yearly amount so your bank can set up the installments.

Canceling your plan

If you cancel your subscription paid in installments and have requested a refund, here’s what happens next:

  1. Review – Our team checks if the request is eligible.
  2. Approval – If approved, Canva refunds the total yearly charge (or prorated amount) to your bank in a single transaction.
  3. Bank processing – Your bank processes the reimbursement and returns the amount to you.

Important: We’ll issue your reimbursement in a single transaction. In some cases, your bank may continue charging monthly installments to recover the balance. If this happens, contact your bank directly. Only they can stop or adjust these charges.

Why installments may continue after cancelation

  • The installment plan is an agreement between you and your bank.
  • Canva issues the refund in one lump sum, but your bank may continue charging installments as part of its adjustment process.
  • Canva can’t change these charges. Only your bank can resolve them.

When to expect your funds

  • Canva processes approved refunds immediately.
  • Your bank controls when the reimbursement appears in your account.
  • It may take up to 90 days for the funds to appear in your account.

Why do I see the full yearly charge on my credit card statement?

This usually means your bank is holding the full amount as a pending authorization. You'll still see monthly installment charges appear as usual.

How long will it take to get reimbursed?

It can take up to 90 days, depending on your bank’s processing time.

For questions about charges on your credit card
