My workplace wants to manage my Canva account
If you’ve been using Canva with a company email, and your workplace creates a company account, they may want to add and manage your account so you can better collaborate with your colleagues.

Not sure about your subscription type?
To find your subscription type, go to Settings and select Billing and Plans. From there, you’ll see the details of your Canva plan.
If you receive an email about your company being interested in managing your account in the future, here’s what you can do:
- If you’re using the account for personal reasons, you'll have the option to switch it to a personal one.
- After 30 days, if neither you nor your company take action, your company will have the right to manage your account.
- Note: This doesn't mean that your workplace has added you to a company team. You’ll receive another email about this if and when your company decides to add you to a team they’re managing.
How do I switch to a personal account?
You can follow the prompts from the notifications to switch the email associated with your account from your work email to your personal email. You can also follow the steps below:
- On the top corner of the Canva homepage, select your Account, then choose Settings.
- From Your profile tab, select Edit across your work email address.
- Enter your account password, then Confirm password.
- Use an email that's yet to be used to access Canva.
- Select Save.
Your existing content will now remain in your personal account.
If I miss switching to my personal email, what’ll happen to my account?
If you missed switching to your personal email, you will become a managed user and will no longer be able to:
- Change the email associated with your account
- Update the name associated with your account
- Delete your account
To complete any of these actions, or if you wish to switch to a personal account, you’ll need to reach out to your company admin. Your company admin can contact our Support team to remove you from being a managed user or being part of the company team.
How do I switch between my team and my company-managed team?
Select your account icon at the top right of the homepage. From here, you can toggle between your company-managed team and your team.
How to copy your previous content to the company-managed team
To transfer designs from one team to another, follow the steps outlined here.
What if I’m no longer part of the company?
If you leave the company and are off-boarded, you won't be able to access the company-added team.
