Send your Canva-designed email via Gmail
Learn how to send a Canva-designed email via Gmail using Canva’s Export to Gmail feature.
- Gmail is not an Email Service Provider (ESP). It’s best suited for one-off or personal sends and not for bulk email campaigns.
- It doesn't support embedded media like videos, polls, or quizzes.
How a Canva-designed email works in Gmail
When you choose the Export to Gmail option from the Share menu, Canva opens your design directly in a Gmail draft. The layout, text, and images are preserved as they appear in your Canva design. You can then customise your subject line and recipient list before sending.

FAQs
What email platforms can I use with Canva Email?
You can use Canva Email with platforms that let you upload your own design, such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, or Brevo.
If you're just sending to one person or a small group, you can also use Gmail with Canva’s Export to Gmail option. However, Gmail isn’t built for sending large or automated email campaigns.
Can I send marketing emails using Gmail?
Not really. Gmail is not designed for bulk or commercial email campaigns like most Email Service Providers (ESPs).
It’s great for personal or small messages, but it’s not made for sending to a big list or running email campaigns. For that, it’s better to use an ESP like Mailchimp or other email platforms designed for marketing.
Why does my Canva email look different in Gmail?
Gmail removes media queries and some advanced email styles. Because of this, your Canva email may not stack correctly or match the layout you see in the Canva editor when you view it in Gmail.
Canva cannot control how Gmail displays emails.
