Create a video clip in Canva AI 1.0


Generate short video clips by entering text prompts to Canva AI. You can then preview, download, or edit your clip directly in Canva’s Video Editor.

Canva AI limitations

  • Prompts are supported in English only
  • Canva blocks inappropriate prompts and moderates content.
  • You can’t manually change the audio in videos with sound.

Tips:

Generate 6-second or 8-second videos with Canva AI 1.0

Using Canva AI, you can generate 8-second videos with audio or 6-second videos without audio. Canva saves generated videos automatically.

  1. From the homepage, select Canva AI.
  2. Select
    Video clip.
  3. Describe what you’d like to see. For example:
    • A foggy forest at dawn
    • Fireworks over a calm lake at night
    • An astronaut floating in deep space
  4. (Optional) Attach a reference image to guide the style or composition.
  5. Canva AI may suggest enhancements like pastel tones or cinematic effects.
  6. To download, select the download icon.
  7. To edit the video (e.g., add text, trim, or overlay music), select Use Canva Editor.

Why isn’t my video appearing?

If your video isn’t appearing, it may still be generating. Please wait up to 2 minutes for generation to finish.

Can I change my prompt to get a better result?

Yes, you can change your prompt by rewording it or using a different tone or style. Learn more about getting started with Canva AI.

I can't access Canva AI from the editor

Currently, Canva AI isn't available yet for video designs in the editor. Our team is working on making this available soon!
