Care for your Canva Print apparel
Taking simple precautionary steps when washing and drying your personalised apparel goes a long way to keep it in excellent shape.

Washing
Using harsh chemicals and hot water when washing isn't recommended. Follow the points below to preserve the quality of your apparel while ensuring it’s thoroughly clean.
- Wash inside out. Turning the garment inside out while washing minimizes the friction which reduces pilling and protects the print.
- Avoid hot water. If using a machine, wash on a gentle cycle with cold water to prevent fading and shrinking. Wash the garment with similar colours and hues.
- Use mild detergent. Always avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or fabric softeners, as they can damage both the print and fabric.
- Handwash if possible. Compared to machine washing, handwashing with cold water reduces wear and tear and helps expand the lifespan of the printed design.
Drying and ironing
High temperatures can cause shrinkage, fading, and deterioration of print. Keep these tips in mind to protect your apparel.
- Air dry away from direct sunlight. Hang or lay the garment flat in a shaded area to help prevent shrinking and print cracking.
- Use low heat. If needed, tumble dry on the lowest heat setting to minimize the risk of damage.
- Don't iron directly on the print. If ironing is necessary, do it inside out and place a pressing cloth over the print if possible.
Always read the care label on your apparel. It’ll provide the best guidance based on the material and print.
