Connect Zoom to Canva AI

Connect your Zoom account to Canva AI so you can bring your meeting data into your conversations. Once connected, you can ask Canva AI questions about your meetings, summarise transcripts, and pull out action items and decisions without leaving Canva.

Before you start

To use Zoom with Canva AI, you need:

  • a Zoom account
  • an active Canva account

Meeting transcripts and AI summaries are only available on paid Zoom plans. If you're on a free plan, you can still connect your account, but transcript and summary data won’t be available.

Connect your Zoom account

  1. Open Canva
  2. Go to
    Canva AI from your homepage.
  3. Select the
    plus icon, then choose
    Connect apps.
  4. Select Zoom, then choose Connect.
  5. If needed, sign in to your Zoom account.
  6. Review the permissions. Zoom will request access to:
    • Meeting transcripts
    • Meeting summaries
    • Basic account information
  7. Select Authorise to grant permission.
  8. Once authorised, you’ll be redirected back to Canva. Zoom is now connected and ready to use.

You don't need to install anything from the Zoom App Marketplace, everything is set up in Canva.

Use Zoom with Canva AI

Once connected, you can ask Canva AI questions about your Zoom meetings by typing what you need. For example:

  • "Summarize my last standup meeting."
  • "What action items came from my Q3 planning session?"
  • "What were the key decisions made in today's meeting?"

Tips for best results:

  • Turn on Zoom Cloud Recording so transcripts and summaries are created.
  • Wait a few minutes after a meeting ends. Transcripts can take time to process.
  • Be specific in your questions for better results. See 'Prompt like a Pro' to learn more.

Disconnect Zoom from Canva AI

You can disconnect Zoom from your Settings or by following these steps:

  1. Open Canva
  2. Go to
    Canva AI from your homepage.
  3. Select the
    Plus button
  4. Choose
    Connect apps
  5. Open
    Manage Apps
  6. Choose Zoom and Select Disconnect, then confirm.

To fully remove access, you’ll also need to remove Canva from your Zoom account:

  1. Go to the Zoom App Marketplace and sign in.
  2. Select Manage, then Added Apps, or search for Canva.
  3. Select the
    Canva app, then select Remove.

Once disconnected, Canva AI won’t have access to your Zoom meeting data.

Data and privacy

Your Zoom meeting data is transmitted securely using encrypted connections. You retain full ownership and control of your data and can disconnect the connector at any time to revoke access.

What data is shared with Canva AI:

  • Meeting transcripts (full text with timestamps and speaker labels; requires Cloud Recording and transcription to be enabled)
  • Meeting summaries generated by Zoom AI Companion (overview, key points, action items; requires AI Companion to be enabled)
  • Meeting metadata: topic, host, date, time, duration, and participant count
  • Meeting IDs and agenda information used for search and lookup

What data is not shared:

  • Meeting recordings (video or audio)
  • Screen shares or shared files
  • Calendar invites or scheduling details
  • Chat messages from meetings
  • Individual participant names or contact details (speaker labels in transcripts are the exception)

Troubleshooting

Zoom won't connect

  • Make sure you're signed in to the correct Zoom account.
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting the app.
  • If the issue persists, refresh the page and try again.

Canva AI isn't finding my meeting data

  • Make sure Zoom Cloud Recording is turned on. Transcripts and summaries depend on it.
  • Wait a few minutes after your meeting ends before querying, as transcripts may take time to process.
  • Make sure Zoom is toggled on in the Connect apps panel.
