Consolidate multiple teams into one organization

To consolidate your organization, follow these steps to make sure everyone keeps access to Canva and their designs.

1. Set Up Single Sign-On (SSO) and Canva Access

If SSO and Team IDs are enabled, make sure users’ Identity Provider (IdP) membership groups are updated so they keep access to your consolidated team.

2. Review permission settings

Check the team permissions in your new team to make sure the right restrictions are in place.

To check permissions:

  1. Go to
    Settings.
  2. Under Control and Permissions, select
    Permissions.
  3. Choose your team and review or update any restrictions

Note: Notifications aren’t sent when permissions are updated, so be sure to let your team know about any updates.

3. Review and add members to the new team

Review members across your other teams, then invite the right people to start working in the new team space.

4. Transfer designs and content

If users have designs in their old teams, they’ll need to copy them to the new team and re-share as needed.

Tip: If a user has lots of designs, add them to a folder first, then copy the folder to the new team.

5. Remove members from old teams

Once users confirm they have access to the new team and their content, you can remove them from the old team.

This helps make sure everyone is working in the right place going forward.

6. Delete old teams

When everything’s moved and confirmed, you can request to delete the old teams.

To delete a team, contact us or reach out to your Canva support contact.

Team deletion is final and can’t be undone.
