Download PDF pages as separate files
You can download each page of your design as its own PDF file. Instead of one multi-page PDF, you'll get a zip file with a separate PDF for each page. This is handy when you need individual files for distribution, printing, or uploading to systems that only accept single-page documents.
- This feature is available on Canva Pro, Canva Teams, Canva for Nonprofits, and Canva Education.
- Free plan members can see the option but can't use it. Upgrade to Canva Pro to access this feature.
Download PDF pages as separate files
- Open the design you want to download.
- Select Share, then select Download.
- Under File type, select PDF.
- Under Presets, select Digital or Print.
- Select Advanced settings to expand the options.
- Toggle on Download pages as separate files.
- Select Download.
If the toggle is greyed out, you'll need to upgrade your Canva account to access this feature. Upgrade to Pro.
Choose which pages to download
Before downloading, you can select which pages to include:
- In the Download options, find Select pages.
- Choose from:
- All: Downloads every page in your design.
- This page: Downloads only the page you're currently viewing.
- Custom: Downloads only the specific pages you select.
- Turn on Download pages as separate files and select Download.
Fix issues with separate PDF downloads
I can't turn on Download pages as separate files, or my PDF pages downloaded as a zip folder
What can cause this
- The Download pages as separate files option is only available on Canva Pro, Canva Teams, Canva for Nonprofits, and Canva for Education.
- If you're on Canva Free, the toggle may appear but can't be turned on.
- If your pages download as a zip folder, this is expected. Canva packages the individual PDF files together so they can be downloaded at once.
What to do
- Check which Canva plan you're using. If you're on Canva Free, upgrade to a supported plan or switch to a team that has Canva Pro, Canva Teams, Canva for Nonprofits, or Canva for Education to use Download pages as separate files.
- If your download appears as a zip folder, open or unzip the folder to access the separate PDF files inside.
FAQs
Does downloading pages separately cost extra?
No. If your design includes paid elements, you'll see Pay and Download as usual. There's no additional charge for downloading pages as separate files.
What are the zip file and individual PDFs named?
The zip file is named after your design. Each PDF inside is named after its page title. If a page has no title, it's named by page number instead.
Can I use this with other file types?
This feature works with PDF downloads. For video designs, you can use the similar Download video as separate files option.
