FAQs
Can I upload files like ZIP, INDD, or HTML?
Yes. You can upload these file types to Canva, and they’ll be safely stored as original files in your account.
While you can’t open or edit them in Canva just yet, you can organize them into folders, download them later, or share them with your team. We’re working to add more file previews in future updates.
Can I download files I've uploaded?
Yes. You can download most files you upload directly to Canva, such as images, videos, Affinity files, and formats like ZIP, HTML, and INDD.
For files like PDF, PPTX, and CSV, Canva converts them into Canva Designs. That means the original file isn’t kept, but you can still export the design into formats like PDF, PNG, or MP4 using the download options in the Editor.
Do all uploaded files count against my storage limit?
Yes. Any file you upload, whether it's stored as an original, converted into a Canva Design, or both, counts toward your storage limit. This includes images, videos, Affinity files, and imported formats like PDF or PPTX.
How do I convert an Affinity file to a Canva Design?
When you upload an Affinity file (.af), you’ll see a full preview of the file. From there, you can click Open in editor to convert it into a Canva Design.
This creates a new, editable design while keeping the original file safely stored. You can return to the original at any time or choose to convert it again later.
