Mention collaborators in your design
Tag teammates directly in your design to notify them and keep them updated. Use mentions to request feedback and approvals or share important updates efficiently.
Mention collaborators in your design from the editor page
- Type "@" or "/mention" in your design.
- Select or type the name of the person you want to mention.
- If the person doesn't already have access to the design, select Share this design. If they already have access, select the name tile, then choose Send notification.
- To remove a mention, press Delete or backspace on your keyboard.
Mention collaborators in your design from a comment
- In the floating toolbar, select Comment.
- Select the Mention someone or type “@”.
- Select or type the name of the person you want to mention.
- Select Submit comment.
Tagged people will receive a notification via email and on their Canva homepage. It’s not applicable for mentions added in a comment.
Once your collaborators access your design, the part of the design they’re working on will be highlighted with their initials.
Limitation: In Canva Sheets, you can only mention one user in a cell.

Why didn’t the person I tagged get a notification?
Make sure the “Send notification” option was selected when mentioning them. If this option isn’t available, check that they have access to the design. Learn more about sharing designs with your team.
Why can’t I tag someone on the design?
You can only mention collaborators who have access to the design. To tag them, go to the sharing settings, grant them permission, and try again. Learn more about sharing designs with your team.
Why isn’t my mention appearing in the design?
If your mention isn’t showing up, try refreshing the page. This usually fixes any loading or connection issues that may prevent the mention from appearing.
