Merge and unmerge table cells
Merge or unmerge table rows, columns, or cells in your design. These steps work for both Canva Sheets and tables placed in designs. When you merge cells, they act as one cell, allowing you to create custom table layouts and organize content more effectively.

Merging cells combines multiple cells into one, allowing you to create custom table layouts and organize content more effectively.
- Click to select the cells you want to merge. To select multiple cells, hold Shift on your keyboard, then click on other cells.
- Right-click on the cells and select Merge cells.
unmerge cells
Unmerging cells splits a merged cell back into its original individual cells.
- Click to select the cell you want to unmerge.
- Right-click on the cell and select Unmerge cell.
Tip: To select entire columns or rows, tap the corresponding letter or number of the column/row. Multiple columns or rows can be selected using arrows in the same way you select multiple cells.
