Moving elements around your design
Move elements in your design
Position elements such as text boxes, graphics, photos, and videos anywhere in your design. Move them around the same page or to a different page.
- Click the element you want to move.
- To select multiple elements, hold Shift on your keyboard and click to add other elements to the selection.
- Drag the elements to their new location on the page.
- For small movements, use the arrow keys on your keyboard.
Set exact positions with X and Y coordinates
Use X and Y coordinates to place elements exactly where you want them. Ideal for aligning designs across pages or matching design specs.
X and Y values measure the distance (in pixels) from the top-left corner of the canvas.
X controls horizontal placement, and Y controls vertical placement.
- Select the element.
- Select Position from the toolbar.
Under Advanced, enter X and Y values to place the element precisely.
Move elements to a different page
- From the editor, select Pages to show your page thumbnails.
- Select the element you want to move.
- To select multiple elements, hold Shift on your keyboard and select the other element.
- Drag the elements to the new page thumbnail.
The element doesn’t move or other elements move too
If you can’t move a specific element, it’s probably locked, part of a group, or both.
To unlock elements, select them, and select Unlock on the floating object toolbar.
Text boxes on templates are usually part of a group. To ungroup, select them and select Ungroup on the floating object toolbar.
After making sure that they’re not locked or grouped, try to move them again.
