Publish Meta ads to your Facebook and Instagram business accounts
Link your Meta account before you publish ads from Canva.
Once your Meta ad account is connected, you can publish ads straight to your business pages.
Publish to Meta
- From the editor, select Share, then select Meta Ads. If you don’t see it as one of the first few options, click See all and then search for Meta Ads.
- If you haven’t connected your Meta account, you’ll be prompted to Connect to Meta first before you can use this feature.
- Once you’ve connected your account, select the Ad type (Image or Video). If your design has animated text, you can set your ad type to video to show the animation.
- Select the Ad account you’d like to publish your ad to. You can also click Connect new ad account if you’d like to use another account that wasn’t previously linked.
- Select the Ad Page you’d like the ad to appear on. This is the Facebook and/or Instagram Page that your ad will come from when shown to users.
- Choose a page from your design. The page chosen will be the one displayed as an ad. If your ad is a video, selecting multiple pages will combine them into one video.
- Enter the Ad name. This will be an internal name for you to refer to inside of Meta Ads.
- Enter the Primary text, Headline, and Description. This is copy that will be visible alongside your ad creative.
- Select Call to action if you want to give your viewers action options. You can select from Shop now, Book now, Learn more, etc. Make sure to enter your Website URL as well.
- Under Campaign, select an existing campaign from your Meta Ad account. If you need to create a new campaign, you can do so in Meta Ads Manager.
- Under Ad set, select an existing ad set for your ad to be assigned to.
- You can enable or disable the option Launch Ad as active. If enabled, your ad will be live upon publishing.
- Review your ad by selecting the preview button on the preview panel. You’ll see how the ad will look across Instagram and Facebook formats.
- Select Submit.
After publishing your ads, you can view their performance through Canva Grow’s Learn feature.
Before publishing, you're responsible for ensuring your ad complies with applicable laws and relevant platform policies.
