Remove a user from your Enterprise organization
When someone leaves your business, an admin can remove their Canva account and transfer ownership of their designs. This helps make sure nothing important is lost.
This guide explains what happens when a user is removed, and how to delete their account if needed.
When you remove a member from your organization
As an admin, you can:
- Remove the member’s account from the team
- Transfer ownership of their designs to another team member
This keeps your team’s content secure and ensures important designs stay accessible.
What if you don’t transfer their designs?
If you remove a member without transferring their designs:
- Shared designs stay accessible to anyone they were shared with
- Private designs become inaccessible once the user is removed
- If the user rejoins later, they’ll regain access to their designs
Tip: To avoid losing access to important content, transfer ownership before removing the user.
What the removed user will see
Once removed, the user loses access to your Enterprise team and features such as:
- Designs created within the team
- Brand Kits
- Templates
- Shared team content
Access to personal designs:
- Anything created or saved in their personal Canva account remains available.
Signing in:
- They can’t use SSO anymore, but they can sign in with their email and a one-time PIN.
Enterprise features:
- They lose access to any tools included in your organization’s Enterprise plan.
Permanently deleting a user account
Deleting a user account is permanent and can’t be undone. The request must come from your organization’s admin.
To request deletion, contact us or reach out to your account team.
