Set sharing permissions in Canva

Sharing permissions control what others can do with your designs and folders.

Choose the right level to collaborate easily and keep your content secure. You can choose from three permission levels: Can edit, Can comment, and Can view.

Set sharing permissions

As the owner or someone with edit access, you can set and update access to a design or folder.

  1. Open the design.
  2. Select
Share at the top of the editor.
  3. Enter a name, email, or group.
  4. Choose a permission level: Can edit, Can comment, or Can view.

Link access users won’t appear in the individual list in the Share menu.

Permission levels

  • Can edit: Can open, edit, and save changes. Can’t reshare unless they also have folder share permissions.
  • Can comment: Can leave comments and feedback, but can’t edit the design.
  • Can view: Can view, export, and make a copy. Can’t rename, edit, or reshare.
  • Can edit and share (folders only): Can edit folder content and reshare it with others

Enterprise security

Permissions help large teams keep content private and in control.

  • Remove access: Stop sharing at any time.
  • Not shared: Keep work private or in progress.
  • Brand controls: Some teams restrict who can edit brand content.
