Setting a timer
Set a timer to track your time during collaborative sessions or manage your time during focused work.
This feature is currently only available on a computer.
In the editor
- On the bottom corner of the editor, click on the Timer icon.
- Select the time and enter the period you want. By default, the timer is set to 5 minutes.
While Presenting
Present full screen
- Press any number on your keyboard from 1-9 to open the timer. Pressing another number will reset the timer to that number.
- The timer can also be accessed by selecting More then select Timer.
- When the timer is activated, a new timer button will appear in the bottom bar next to the navigation arrows.
Presenter view
- The timer can be accessed from either the presenter or audience window. Press any number on your keyboard from 1-9 to open the timer. Pressing another number will reset the timer to that number.
- The timer can also be accessed by selecting the Timer icon.
- To start the timer, click on the Play icon.
- To reset the timer, click on the Reset icon.
- To quickly add 1 minute to the time, click on +1 min.
- To play music while using the timer, hover your cursor over the timer for the options to pop up. Click the Music icon to select music. Choose between Focus, Dramatic, Upbeat, Energetic, or Lofi.
The timer will have special Canva sounds at the start, 10-second mark, and the end. You can adjust the volume of the sound and music by clicking the Volume icon and adjusting the slider.
Everyone on the design you’re working on will see the timer.
If you want to minimise the timer, click on the Timer icon on the bottom corner of the screen or the Minimise icon on the timer. If the timer is active while minimised, it’ll appear in the bottom next to Duration in the editor or the navigation arrows when presenting full screen. Meanwhile, it’ll appear on the presenter window when using Presenter view. When the timer is paused, it’ll have a flashing effect.
