Set up content copy for your organisation
When you enforce Single Sign-On (SSO), members with multiple email addresses might lose access to other Canva accounts and the designs stored in them. Enabling content copy lets members securely copy their work from other accounts to their organisation-managed account.
This guide is for Canva Enterprise and Canva Campus administrators who manage their organisation’s login and access settings.
Enable or disable content copy for your organisation
To enable or disable content copy for your organisation, contact our team or your Account Manager if you’ve been assigned one. They can help confirm whether your organisation is set to allow copying from Verified domains only or All domains.
FAQs
How do members lose access to their accounts?
When Single Sign-On (SSO) is enforced, members are directed to their SSO-linked email. If a member has multiple emails within your verified domains, they may lose access to older accounts. Common scenarios include:
- Your organisation uses multiple identity providers (IdPs)
- Your organisation switches identity providers (IdPs)
- Members have multiple member names or aliases
- Domain changes
What accounts can members copy content from?
This depends on the content copy setting selected for your organisation:
Verified domains only: Members can copy content from accounts belonging to domains your organisation has claimed and verified. Single Sign-On (SSO) must be required to use this option.
All domains: Members can copy content from accounts using any domain.
Example: You’ve claimed @company.com and @subsidiary.com. A member who originally logged in with @company.com and now uses @subsidiary.com can copy content from @company.com because it is a verified domain.
Can members copy content from personal Canva accounts?
If your organisation allows content copy from all domains, members can copy content from personal Canva accounts. If content copy is limited to verified domains, only accounts using your organisation’s verified domains are supported.
Can I copy content for my members?
No, members must log in and complete the verification themselves.
Can we track what’s copied?
Yes, there will be audit logs for each content copy triggered by a member.
What content can be copied?
- Designs
- Folders
- Brand Templates (copied as designs)
- Websites (as designs)
- Videos
- Uploaded media
Is a security check required to move content between accounts?
Yes. To confirm account ownership, Canva will send a verification email to the email address the member nominated when asked which account they wish to copy from.
The member will need to provide the one-time code in that email before any designs can be copied.
Make sure you allowlist no-reply@canva.com to ensure verification emails are delivered successfully.
