Set up Flourish with your Canva account
Flourish is a data visualization tool that lets you create interactive content and animated charts that bring your data to life.
Follow these quick steps to set up Flourish with your Canva account and easily add advanced visualizations to your presentations, reports, social posts and many more.
Step 1: Set up Flourish in Canva
To embed Flourish data visualizations directly in Canva, you’ll need to upgrade to Canva Business or Canva Enterprise or have a paid Flourish subscription.
In Canva:
- Open the Apps panel, and search for the Flourish app.
- Follow the instructions to connect to Flourish with your Canva account.
If you’re a Canva user not on a Canva Business or Canva Enterprise plan, and it’s your first time adding Flourish visualizations to Canva, you’ll be prompted to upgrade to access Flourish’s Presenter features like seamless embedding in Canva designs and image downloads.
In Flourish
- Open your visualization and click Export & publish in the Flourish editor, then select Export to Canva design.
- If you are a free Flourish user, you’ll be prompted to Get Canva Business to access the premium features of the Flourish Presenter plan.
- Once you sign up for Canva Business, connect to Flourish with your Canva account. If you’ve upgraded from a free Flourish account to Canva Business, you may need to log out of Flourish first and log back in again using Continue with Canva.
- Your access to the Flourish Presenter plan will be activated.
- Start designing and easily embed Flourish data visualizations directly in Canva
Canva users who aren’t on a Canva Business or Canva Enterprise subscription can still create data visualizations by using a free Flourish account at flourish.studio and embed them online.
Step 2: Add your Flourish chart to a Canva design
Once you’re set up, choose an existing design or start a new one. Your Flourish charts will appear in Projects in the side panel - click to insert them.
Step 3: Edit or update your chart anytime
To make changes, select your Flourish chart in the Canva editor and then select Edit on the toolbar. This will open your Flourish dashboard, where you can update your data or settings.
Tips for Canva Business and Canva Enterprise users
Access to Flourish Presenter plan is only available to Canva Business and Canva Enterprise users.
If you’re not the admin and can’t access it, please check with your Canva account admin or owner to make sure Flourish is enabled for your organization.
To unlock the Flourish Presenter plan access, you’ll have to connect Flourish with your Canva account:
- Visit https://app.flourish.studio/canva/connect
- Select Continue with Canva
- Once you’ve signed in, you’ll automatically get access to Presenter features in Flourish
- Start designing and embed Flourish data visualizations directly in Canva

When Canva Business and Enterprise users sign up or log in to Flourish with their Canva account, the Presenter plan is enabled by default, but access is ultimately controlled by your account admin.
If you’re having trouble accessing it, please check with your Canva account admin or owner to confirm that Flourish is enabled for your team.
Q: I used the Flourish app in Canva before, and it was free. Do I need to pay for this now?
No, you don’t need to pay. If you’ve used the Flourish app in Canva since March 2025, you’ll continue to have free access. However, please note:
- If you upgrade to Canva Business and later downgrade, you’ll lose your free access to the Flourish app.
- Canva users who aren’t on Canva Business or Enterprise can still create data visualizations using a free Flourish account at flourish.studio and embed them online
Q: Can I upgrade the Flourish Presenter plan to higher-tier plans (Flourish Publisher or Enterprise) directly through Canva?
Only the Flourish Presenter plan is available through Canva Business and Enterprise subscriptions. For higher-tier plans, you’ll need to purchase them directly through Flourish.
Q: What if I am an existing Flourish customer (Flourish Publisher or Flourish Enterprise plans)?
You will be able to continue accessing Flourish in Canva via the Flourish app. However, your current Flourish Publisher or Flourish Enterprise plan does not include access to Canva premium features.

Q: Can I download a Flourish story slide as an image?
Yes, you can now download individual Flourish story slides as images directly from the interface. When viewing your Flourish story, look for the Download as image button on each slide. Select it to save the current slide as an image file to your device.
Why do my numbers have extra decimal places (e.g., 12.00)?
What can cause this
If your numbers in a Flourish chart (like a scatter, table, or 3D map) are showing unnecessary trailing zeros, this may be due to an older template version.
What to do
A fix has been released to improve how numbers are displayed. To apply the fix, you’ll need to upgrade your visualization to the latest template version directly within your Flourish account.
Please note that existing visualizations will not update automatically.
