Access to Leonardo.Ai Apprentice plan is only available to Canva Business and Canva Enterprise customers.

Step 1: Upgrade to Canva Business or Enterprise account
You must have an active Canva Business or Canva Enterprise subscription to unlock the Leonardo.Ai Essential plan.
What if I have an existing paid Leonardo.Ai plan (Apprentice, Artisan or Maestro)?
Canva-provided entitlement only applies to Canva Business or Enterprise subscribers who don’t have an existing paid Leonardo.Ai plan (Apprentice, Artisan, or Maestro). For assistance, please reach out to the Leonardo.Ai support team.
Step 2: Connect your Canva account
After upgrading to a Business or Enterprise plan, you’ll have to connect Leonardo.Ai to your Canva account.
- Visit Leonardo.AI
- Select Sign up or Login with Canva
- Choose the Canva team that’s on a Business or Enterprise plan
- Once you’ve signed in, you’ll automatically get access to Essential features in Leonardo.Ai
- Start generating professional-quality AI images and video, and add them to your Canva designs

When Canva Business and Enterprise users connect to Leonardo.Ai with their Canva account, the Essential plan is enabled by default. If you’re not the admin and have trouble accessing it, please check with your Canva account admin or owner to confirm that Leonardo.Ai is enabled for your team.
Only Essential access is available through Canva Business and Enterprise subscriptions. For higher-tier plans, you’ll need to purchase them directly through Leonardo.Ai.
Q: What’s the difference between Leonardo.Ai Essential features and Canva AI?
Canva AI is built into Canva to help anyone create professional content quickly and easily - with tools like Canva Code and Magic Video. Some of Canva’s image generation tools (including Canva AI) are powered by Leonardo.Ai ’s AI model, which is seamlessly integrated and delivered through Canva’s user-friendly interface.

Q: When do my Leonardo.Ai Essential tokens reset?
Leonardo.Ai tokens reset monthly on the anniversary of the date you first logged into Leonardo.Ai via Canva SSO, meaning the day you first connected your Canva account to Leonardo.Ai.
This reset date is not tied to your Canva subscription renewal date and does not reset on the 1st of the month (unlike Canva’s AI usage).
Because of this, your Leonardo.Ai tokens reset date may be different from your Canva billing cycle. For example, if you upgraded to Canva Business on March 1 but first logged into Leonardo.Ai on February 7, your Leonardo.Ai tokens will reset on the 7th of every month.
Please note that the token reset date cannot be manually changed or reset.
