Star your favorite photos, elements and fonts


Want to easily find that perfect photo, element, or font you discovered while designing? With the

Star feature, you can bookmark your favorite content across Canva so it’s always within easy reach for future use.

You can star or unstar photos and elements from both the homepage and the editor. Canva saves starred photos and elements in the

Starred content section of the
Templates tab on the homepage.

You can only star fonts from the editor.

Starred fonts appear in the starred section of the font list in your editor for quick access.

Star photos and elements

Save your favorite photos and elements to the Starred content section so you can quickly access them later.

Star photos and elements from the homepage

  1. From the homepage, go to the side panel and select the
    Open menu icon to reveal the available options.
  2. Go to the
    Templates tab.
  3. Go to the
    Photos tab for photos or the
    Graphics tab for elements.
  4. Select the
    Close menu icon to collapse the menu.
  5. Hover over the photo or element that you want to star.
  6. Select the
    Star icon.

  1. From the editor side panel, go to the
    Elements tab.
  2. Select Photos or Graphics to open that section.
  3. Hover over the photo or element that you want to star.
  4. Select the
    More icon.
  5. Select
    Star.

Unstar photos and elements

Remove photos and elements from your Starred content when you no longer need quick access to them.

  1. From the homepage, go to the side panel and select the
    Open menu icon to reveal the available options.
  2. Go to the
    Templates tab.
  3. Go to the
    Starred content tab.
  4. Hover over the photo or element that you want to unstar.
  5. Select the
    More icon.
  6. Select
    Unstar.

  2. Hover over the photo or element that you want to unstar.
  3. Select the
    More icon.
  4. Select
    Unstar.

View starred content

Access all your starred templates, photos, and elements from the Canva library in one place.

View starred content from the homepage

  1. From the homepage, go to the side panel and select the
    Open menu icon to reveal the available options
  2. Go to the
    Templates tab.
  3. Select the
    Starred content.
  4. View your starred content displayed in that section.

Starred

  1. From the editor, go to
    Projects tab.
  2. Under Folders, go to
    Starred to view your starred photos and elements.

I can’t find my Starred folder from the editor

What can cause this

This usually means you have not opened the Starred folder yet, so it does not appear in the side panel.

What to do

  1. From the editor side panel, go to
    Projects tab.
  2. Under Folders, select the
    Starred folder.

After you open the Starred folder, Canva adds it to the side panel.

I can’t see my Starred folder from the editor

What can cause this

This usually means the Starred tab is already in the side panel, but it appears near the end of the list of tabs.

What to do

  1. Go to the editor side panel.
  2. Scroll down to find your Starred folder.

Star and unstar fonts

Save your favorite fonts, so they appear in the starred section of your font list for quick access. The option to star fonts isn’t available on the homepage. You’ll need to open the editor.

  1. Open your design
  2. Select any text box.
  3. In the toolbar, open the Font section to expand the font panel.
  4. Hover over the font you want to star.
  5. Select the
    More icon.
  6. Select the
    Star font.

Unstar fonts

Remove fonts from your starred fonts when you no longer need quick access to them.

  1. Open your design.
  2. Select any text box.
  3. In the toolbar, select the Font section to expand the font panel.
  4. Hover over the font you want to remove from Starred.
  5. Select the
    More icon.
  6. Select the
    Unstar font.
