Fix Style Match issues

  • If you see "Style can't be pasted to this graphic," try applying the style to a different element. Some content has rules that stop you from copying styles.
  • If you see "This style is restricted," try copying from a different graphic. You can't copy styles from some partner content.
  • If you see "You've reached the limit for now," wait 24 hours before using Style Match again.

FAQS

Can I copy any element style?

Yes, you can. However, when copying 3D styles to elements, the result can’t be rotated as they remain technically 2D graphics with 3D styling.

Can I apply a graphic style to a photo?

Yes. Select a graphic, copy its art style, then select a photo to apply the style. The photo will change to match the graphic's look.

Can I use a photo as a style source to copy art style?

No. You can only copy art styles from graphics. You can apply styles to photos, but you can't use a photo as the source.

Why does my photo look different after applying a style?

Style Match uses AI to change how your photo looks. When you apply styles to photos of people, facial features or skin tones may look different. Try a different style or report the content if results are unexpected.

Do my recently used styles save across sessions?

Yes. Your recently used styles are saved and will appear at the front of the style list the next time you use Style Match.

I’m a creator contributor. How does style match or copy art style impact my work?

We deeply value and respect the work of artists and creators in our community. Style Match is part of the Canva AI ecosystem, designed to help users discover and create in a creative and responsible way. When elements are used as style references, they’ll be counted towards earnings from our royalty pool to ensure creators are recognised and rewarded for their contributions.
