Translate Canva designs using Smartling
Translate Canva designs using Smartling. Log in to your Smartling account in Canva to use it.
Translate using Smartling from the homepage
- From the homepage side panel, select Apps.
- On the search bar, type Smartling.
- Select Smartling.
- Select if you want to use Smartling on a new or existing design.
- Select Connect. A pop-up window will appear where you can sign in with your Smartling account.
- Once you’ve logged in, select the Smartling project you want your Canva design to be translated in. You can also select whole pages or individual text elements.
- Give your job a name. This is the name of the job that will appear in the Smartling project you selected and this needs to be unique per project. You can also optionally add a due date and/or instructions for the translators who'll work on the job.
- Select the language(s) you want your design to be translated into and select Submit. The available languages here are set per project inside Smartling. Please modify your Smartling project configuration if your project is missing language(s).
- You can monitor the completion status of your translation job by opening the app again in your chosen design. Once the translation job is done, you’ll also receive an email notification.
- Once the translations are complete, you can generate translated versions of your design by selecting the languages it’s translated to and selecting Generate translations.
Translate using Smartling from the editor
- Open the design you want to translate
- On the side panel, select Apps.
- On the search bar, type Smartling.
- Select Smartling.
